Got them AKG K371 recently, love the warm sound signature and the bass is absolute joy to listen to. By far the best headphones I tried so far...

Yes. If you’re gonna buy them get the Airpods Pro. Apple truly perfected noise canceling with the Airpods Pro. It also has a transparency mode where you can literally hear as if there’s nothing in your ear. The sound is also pretty good it’s nothing insane but it’s like an 8/10.
Definitely worth it.

Is the sound the same as the wired apple earphones? If so that’s a hard pass on my end. Also like the wired earphones do these also last only for like 5 months before going out?

No and no. They have more bass and significantly better sound quality. Also here’s a story. One day I was drunk and dropped one of my Airpods from the balcony of a hotel. It fell from like at least 100 feet I thought it was over. I found it next to a car and it still f***ing worked. I’m not trying to sound like a fanboy or anything but Apple seriously made a hell of a product with these things.
