So when I was younger I watched a lot of Dragonball Z, I also liked some of the Pokémon movies and I was a big fan of the Witcher nightmare of the wolf which came out a year or so ago? For me though to watch an anime it has to be based on a series I already have an interest in e.g. the Witcher. For some I assume the love for anime is so strong that the genre comes first and the particular show or movie is secondary. What’s ya’ll reasons for liking anime so much?
cartoons allow for big and unique plots that wouldnt work otherwise
also some of the animation can be pretty
also 2D girls do not walk around with poop in them 24/7 like real girls
ive only seen death note
I feel like y’all make this thread once a year but making this thread with an iron man avy is 0 self awareness
I promised myself to start with Jojo but had no clue where to begin lmao
Season 1 is slower by a bit but sets up the reward of all future seasons
It can pull off way more ambitious imaginings to no end without the crutch of live action limitations. Of course the writing will need to be stellar as well, which many series and films have.
It's also not really a "genre"
more a medium, that has a variety of genres in it.
ie: They can do dramas in ways that other shows simply can't (either because animated dramas in western culture aren't really a thing, or because live action dramas can't do the same camera angles/colors/art/action)
So it has a lot of unique s*** out there that doesn't really have an equivalent
im not too into anime so for me its just the cool looking animation. i dont like cheap looking ones
the concepts they come with are unique af
e.g. Chainsaw Man
Like western mediums of animation ain’t coming up with something like that
My goodness, where’s this from?
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal
The appeal is that its fire.
Hope this post helped @op !
Anime absolutely sucks except the few decent ones
