It’s was probably the original FMA anime which finished before the manga was finished so they just made up there own thing
FMA Brotherhood is the true to manga anime they literally did the whole thing over again except better in every way
The animation is s tier, the characters and their development s tier, the themes s tier. The fights s tier
It doesn’t get better and I’m going this hard recommending cause it’s a special show to me and I love when folks get to experience it for the first time. I’m not gassing I swear just look up any top anime lists it’s usually #1 and for a good reason

it has officially been added to the watch list.
Getting into anime these past two years has been a blessing. I've been exposed to so much good storytelling, memorable characters and fantastic music
sometimes I cry when I think about the mushroom cloud tree in my neighbor totoro
It is a very visceral medium. The use of color and stylistic variation in sketches should appeal to someone on an intuitive level. Maybe you are conditioned to reject it bc of stereotypes but I’d just say try again in the future. Lots of shows repeat the same tropes and concepts but there are many developments in visual style/tone to appreciate from the 90s (I’m not quite an old old head yet) to the present

Great soundtracks too yea, but the music is just another thing where you catch the vibe or not. Hard to talk someone into appreciating j-pop and rock

I'm not sure what j-pop or rock have to do with anything when the vast majority of anime soundtracks have neither of those.
A lot of them are big trash ngl and catered to fat f***s with no lives but some of them are really good. It’s like cartoons made for adults
Crazy projection
I like it for different reasons
Sometimes it's like visual crack, something like Gurren Lagann or Akira is engaging visually and constantly stimulating
Something like Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex allows stories to be told that are set in the near future without an over reliance on CGI which would be too jarring. Alternatively you can stylise a certain setting like Samurai Champloo with ronins getting up to no good and blend it with a hip hop soundtrack which would be way too corny in a live action medium
And then you have something like Serial Experiments Lain or Haibane Renmei which is totally esoteric and takes advantage of the lack of constrains animation has to create unique worlds and feelings
Less serious stuff is just goofy and fun and loud and bright with relatable characters/archetypes that makes for easy watching
I watch maybe two anime shows a year so I'm not the biggest fan, but I grew up with it around me so I respect it a lot
Crazy projection
Cmon bro who do you think is watching toilet bound hanako kun

It’s good once you get past the toilet fetish

it’s in enough representative shows that you look funny for making this smartass remark 😭 especially when I wasn’t even claiming to make a definitive statement on the medium
Crazy projection
Bruh u gotta admit a sizable portion of anime content is just creep s***
Like cmon let’s be real here

Sure, if you wanna deep it like that but majority of anime watchers aren't creepy
