I struggle to understand the size of the XXXTentacion fanbase and the speed with which he attained it. He seems to be the Tupac of the people born after 2000
I listened to and liked a few XXXTentacion songs (Jocelyn Flores, F*** Love, Carry On, Everybody Dies in their Nightmares), but I don't listen to them and think "this guy probably has a huge, rabid fanbase, bigger than like every other SoundCloud rapper combined"
What am I missing? Same for Juice tbh. Anyone else feel the same way?
Mysterious lmage and a sort of rawness that was unheard of at the time definitely drew me back in 2015 lol
songs like freddy vs jason, l spoke to the devil in miami, and may more just showcased a bleeding edge in a fairly sanitzed era of music
unfortunately l didn’t remain a fan for his studio albums but l fully believe he was the one at that moment
deep/fake depression music, he's king of the emo youth
Is emo still a thing?
Controversy sells
not to be like that but if you weren’t up on the SoundCloud scene from 2014-16 and werent a rowdy teen at the time you prob wouldn’t get what made him blow
The image of x that has lasted far after his passing it’s so different from the one that he embodied the majority of his career
I used to stan till I found Bones
theres much better artist
damn l feel like most ppl knew bones first
struck a chord with the minecraft kid audience
plus the controversy + beefing with everybody. kids thought he was invincible like 50
damn l feel like most ppl knew bones first
eh I wasnt into the internet like that till around 2018 so yea I was late
true but it's even weirder bc that generation is big on judging everyone very harshly, by their worst moment. and the guy had serious conduct issues and was still embraced
I only like his really hyped, hard aggressive tracks.
RIP Roach is one of the best Rap songs of the 2010s period, for example:
