He was like Kendrick before Kendrick, but had a bit more fun with his music than I feel like Kendrick does
Still don’t know how this comparison came about. Their music ain’t remotely similar.
Ive already capped for 2Pac my whole life so I dont even have much to say anymore, but he was a man of the people.
Discography is full of introspective songs about morality and social issues while still being absolute bops.
Don Killuminati was probably his best album to date, which is crazy because it was his last album he made. He was literally just getting started. He had just reached a point in his career where his influence was unmatched and he was getting ready to start using it.
Whole situation is just sad man. Even after his death, I feel like his family got very little closure. And then Kadafi, who he was close to like a brother, gets killed a few months later over some bs.
But I'm glad his legend has stood so strong after all these years. I remember in the mid 2000s kids talking about how he's still alive, he'll be back soon, etc. Like people legitimately believed it. He's the only rapper (possibly musician) in history to hold such a strong legend.
This is the greatest rap song ever none of your favorites are doing this type of energy
!https://youtu.be/87dmz7LYWtIHow can dudes on here listen to s*** like this and say Pac wasn't technically great
Passion & Soul. you can tell he went to art school and studied acting. his delivery is unmatched. Also his perspective by the time makaveli came around is one that I doubt any other person could authentically recreate or match.
the music alone does it
I didn’t understand why people thought he was the best for the longest time and thought it was just hero worship. But if you combine his actions in real life plus his charisma in his music (especially in later albums) there’s a real case to be made. Even if he’s not my personal favorite, I’ll respect it

Pops said if you listen to the makaveli tracks he kinda talking like a preacher in a way.
He intentionally would double, triple up his vocals at sometimes weird places and would intentionally go “off beat” at times like he was just talking to you
Which (and i forgot the link) was intentional decision. Think one of the producers or engineers talked about editing a double take because he wasnt on beat, Pac was like nah. Definitely a perfect description of a man wrapped in paranoia while still hoping for the best in humanity (which i dont think is a baf thats been successfully reached since, the closest we’ve gotten is TPAB)
His cultural importance, panther background, and the fact he wasn't a one dimensional caricature for the sake of branding.

They say p**** and paper is poetry, power and pistols
Plotting on murdering motherfuckers 'fore they get you

Elite Pac song
2pac have the best lyrics in music not just rap. He could write a song about anything, whether it was love and relationships, gangsta s***, political s***, you name it.
And it would be deep and smart, I can't think of nobody that have lyrics like him, matter of fact most people simply aren't smart enough to write like that, especially under the age of 25.
2Pac was a true poet. Plus he would deliver these lyrics with so much energy and emotion, and his voice was incredible making him an amazing rap vocalist. He is the king and the best of all time no doubt about it

!https://youtube.com/watch?v=XEVN0Cukm6cpac actually raps in jazz phrasings like one of his favorite things to do is hit a bar unexpectedly lower than you'd think which is a really common jazz trick to make phrasings of lines sound more exciting and interesting

comparison only exists due to brute force on Kendrick’s part

its hilarious listening back to kendricks discog cuz he was forcing it the whole time until mr morale and then the whole album is him complaining that he's not pac
