Not to overanalyze this scene (but here we go), I don’t think Seth is saying Peter’s whole point is stupid. That phrase was a silly/stupid phrase pulled from Seth’s life but I think overall this scene is more making fun of movie debate and being mad at someone for not liking a classic like how Peter can only admit this right before they’re all going to die and he was right to keep it bottled in because everyone gets mad at him for it. It’s not that Peter is stupid it’s that the way we discuss art (movies) can be very silly, on both sides

So what it actually is, is jealousy that you aren’t a creative that is capable of making layered works of your own.
