keeping it a stack
1st one was never all that either
i think slide was a cool gimmick song and rollin is cool
i guess but that album stinks
ON GOD IN HEAVEN
never got it, this 2nd one sounds the exact same and everyone is saying its weak
Nah first one has some amazing tracks that Vol. 2 doesn’t have.
Those type of albums just aren’t it anymore. Khaled would probably struggle too without the gimmicks and pandering to black folk.
khaled also will stick with anything no matter if it flops
A few things:
A lot of big radio hits took cues from the Funk Wav sound between albums, so this one doesn’t sound as fresh.
Instrumentals are all kind of the same tempo and structure. Makes it all sound very low energy and bland.
No synergy between the artists and instrumentals. Sounds like they dropped acapellas from different songs on top of the beat a lot of the time.
One of my friends described Vol 2 like they ran the first one through an AI generator, which is accurate imo.

i didnt really find anything amazing from either
just my opinion though

Slide
Cash Out
Heatstroke

Are all great
i will say the features vol 1 had were all super hot at the time
who should vol 2 have featured that wasnt on there
This one is more stale and feels more “industry”
It had none of the soul of the original one.
First one had more interesting beats and feature combinations. That’s what allowed it to be one of the tapes of that summer

I agree with literally every point. Especially the first one.
Pop radio really did borrow heavily from the first one afterwards.

100% Anderson Paak
The fact he wasn’t on this one is just wrong.
I got a feeling when I hear this project it’s gonna be good, and very similar to Vol 1…
Which is going to prove my theory that the average music listener today can only enjoy s*** if other people enjoy it (since this project has had zero hype upon release)
