Anything moody and visually entrancing works best at a hypnotic pace
2001 made that clear and it hasn't changed ever since
Idk is Tenet a slow burn?
Can’t think of any off the top of my head. Any popular one people naming Id probably be inclined to agree with

Look at this normie ! Tenet is a big action oriented film lol not a slow burn at all, it's fact paced as hell
I've heard conflicting things about this (take shelter), how much cosmic horror/lovecraftian influence is in here? Or am i tripping and thinking of something else
I think films like No country and Prisoners having an established high stakes premise takes away from it feeling like a slow burn even during it’s slower paced moments cus you know at any moment Wild s*** can happen. Which these films include. Burning is an exception cus you aren’t explicitly told what exactly is going on and it really takes it’s time to unfold.
Recent slow burn films I enjoyed:
Tár
Nomadland
Power of the dog
Leave no trace
Causeway
After sun
Shoplifters
Burning
Birds of passage
Ash is purest white
Last black man of San Fran
Corpus Christi
Portrait of a lady on fire
Petite Maman
Nitram (it’s a movie about a mass shooter but not based around the “action” but more so a character study on what made him break)
Mass
The assistant
Do we consider Minari slow?
Also what bout dialogue heavy films like Fences or Ma Rainey black bottom
I’ve seen some sites state Parasite, Don’t breathe, A quiet place as slow burns which I don’t agree with at all.
