Life is Good had already been out
That’s what’s crazy to me lol. Nas already made Life is Good and just like always, jay z gets influenced by him to make 4:44 and his fans act like he discovered the wheel
That’s the reality of Jay Z stans lol. They were able to convince WTT was a classic before it even dropped. I have almost never seen such a forced “this is a classic” than what they did for WTT. And I was a pretty big Jay fan myself lol.
The issue is over-inflating the stance of outliers in a smaller scaled base and painting these ideas with a broad brush as if the majority believes it lol

Nas has been introspective like life is good for a while. Jay hasn’t. That’s why
444 is aging well and I say this as someone that found it overrated when it came out.
Some issues with flow and a few songs are meh, but the album is good.
And for everyone criticizing the financial part, you’re definitely exposing your income and background.

Yes because a lot of jay z fans are clueless. You can’t label something a classic cuz your favorite rapper finally caught up to other people
You not there yet lil bro give it time
It's good, a few great songs.
But I think it gets some grace because he dropping a lot of trash for a while so when he made a good album it was getting overhyped
4:44 isn’t even that great too. It’s a good album but a lot of it has aged horribly
What aged horribly?
i never understand why this site hypes up mid or trash albums (e.g. UTOPIA) but want to go over with a fine tooth comb any albums that are generally well received
only place that does this dumb s*** so much
Jay was getting lapped the whole time on WTT felt like brooklyn nets KG
He went just as hard if not harder than Kanye on most of the songs
What songs did he get lapped on?
That’s drive to work the morning after it dropped
What aged horribly?
Niggas think because they don’t go back to it it’s “aged horribly” yap season itt
What aged horribly?
Any bar from him about financial advice. a lot the production, jay z’s voice was whack on it too. Only songs I can listen to are Smile, caught my eyes, and Marcy

this myth that he was washed on WTT comes from scorned Kanye fans that only really like hip-hop because of him and Drake fans that feel the need to downplay him any chance they get
he was mostly fine on that album

Eminem was making 12 steps program anthems. It was an epidemic

I can’t be mad at a rapper for bragging about being a billionaire, crazy rich, capitalism. That’s a key part of rap and how people raised in his era (and probably most today) were promoted to feel proud about.
Unfortunately for Jay with the subject matter of 4:44, the broader subject matter of the album that attracted people so crazy about it also attracted a minority of people who would be morally offended by his wealth talk.

What bar exactly are you talking about

Exposing ourselves for being members of the vast majority of the worlds population, what a gotcha
What bar exactly are you talking about
Man you know what I’m talking. Stop playing 21 questions. It’s littered throughout the album

No Church in the Wild (Jay verse was def better)
NIP
Otis
Gotta Have it
Why I love You
Only songs where I can think Kanye’s verse was significantly better if probably Lift Off and Who Gon Stop me otherwise it’s pretty equal imo
