Otherwise I mostly agree that s***isn’t needed. I will say Daenarys being forced to have s***in the first season of Game of Thrones was necessary for her character development or even the s***seen in Wolf of Wall Street but otherwise it def isn’t needed
Like the scene between Linda Hamilton and that dude in the first Terminator wasn’t necessary at all tbh. But I did enjoy that scene

i saw the first couple eps and I dug it. But tbh I haven't seen a lot of Simon's stuff including The Wire so can't really say how good it is in context with his work.

I only seen two episodes of the deuce, I thought you had finished it. Having seen the wire, I can safely say it's what I prefer so far.

May 20, 2021it all depends look at "normal people" (tv show) it's a book adaption and they just followed the way the book displayed it.
then you have "blue is the warmest color" where they were basically threatened to do these s***scenes and they are totally "male gaze"
it can both be artsy as well as just soft p***. the right films and shows also emphasize things like consent et cetera and that is so important imo
