It was in the gutter 11 years ago when n-dubz was the biggest thing around and skepta was doing pop music and chipmunk etc
Now with the wave artists and drill artists its much more promising

    with respect completely disagree

even the mainstream grime back then was endearing cos it was so clear they were going pop , its obvious songs like Tinchy - Number One were going for a particular audience

now you have "grime MCs" like Stormzy or Skep or whatever doing watered grime and being marketted as pop, you cant tell whats authentic cos the entire scene is pop, no mixtapes no sets no dubs no clashes no real standout shows, obviously some exceptions but the state of the scene is dead and buried IMO

Why are we acting like UK pop isn't still crossing over to America at a constant pace

Like Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, etc. all have had massive chart topping hits in the US in the last year, and Adele is rumoured to drop soon and that's gonna run US charts again

Yeah I agree grime scene is dying/maybe already dead and I dont rate people like stormzy anyways
But Uk rap isn't just grime nowadays there's a lot of promise in other subsections
