drawing parallels to stealing IRL doesn't work on me I love stealing from corpos and I do it almost every day

    Ur very cool for that

I think it's wrong. Entertainment is for those who can afford it

  • Apr 26, 2023

for example: you at a friends house and you see a book - you ask your friend "dammn thats an interesting book - can I read/take it?" your friends says "yeah man keep it - I have already completed it"

It's more like walking into Wal-Mart, cloning the book, and walking out. Nothing was actually stolen; no scarcity was created that would happen with a theft. But Wal-Mart did still lose money they might have otherwise got from a sale of that book.

In any case, I only pirate if the pirated version of something is the superior version of the product OR there is no way to obtain a perpetual license legally. In many cases with games especially, the DRM measures are so intrusive (like always-online bullshit) or licensing bureaucracy ends up pruning content from 10+ year old games -- content I paid for back when it was still licensed. I'm pirating yo s*** and getting the content back. F*** you.

I'm also not jiving with the "own nothing, pay the subscription/rent the product, be happy" bullshit either. These f***ers have optimized siphoning from your pockets without providing any additional service to warrant it. I'm not a paypig, I'm pirating yo s*** too.

Piracy is morally right. Copyright laws, especially intellectual property laws, are morally repugnant and should not exist. People who defend them are too far gone to be of any use to civilization's future.

Copyright/IP and patent laws are literally just land ownership for post-material society.

Nvm that all art should be free for public viewing and use (regardless of potential financial gains/losses from use).

Nvm that the whining about "we're losing so much money because of illegal downloads!" has literally ALWAYS been complete bullshit made up by record companies and media studios.

The music industry back in Napster's heyday was still doing just fine and the only reason iTunes (and eventually streaming models) were widely adopted was to maintain relevance in the new digital market — not to save themselves from bankruptcy due to a tiny minority of consumers downloading stuff for free.

The TV and movie industries have even less of a claim on their pockets being harmed by it. Back when Game of Thrones was at peak popularity, HBO was trying to get PirateBay shut down because they claimed they were losing too many viewers to illegal downloads of episodes...despite viewership during that time being at an all time high. Movie tickets have also never seen a dip in sales due to piracy -- the only reason movie tickets have declined (aside from 2020) is because of the new streaming service models that have taken over households.

Media piracy had literally NEVER been a major contribution to any industry's downfall. Not a single time. Anyone saying different is a conservative moralizing scaremonger bootlicking f**goon.

Adobe thinks ppl gonna just spend $2k on photoshop just to make epic memes

They really got it on lock tho cuz all the free options suck d*** once youre used to Photoshop.

I love pirating tho. Movies, shows, music...

Ive been trying to find the American Dad series in 1080p or higher and its impossible tho

I miss when thepiratebay was legit, those were the real golden days.
