I've always loved Man on Fire
And John Q (best Denzel film ever)
Both incredible and beautiful movies
Yeah man Dr. Strangelove is gold and doesn’t get mentioned enough when ppl discuss Kubricks best movies. Everyone mostly says 2001 and Clockwork.
Rashomon Is amazing too. Honestly might do a movie marathon of Kurosawa because there’s a still a few I have to see still.
Thing I loved bout High and Low was how it switched perspectives halfway through but still keeps you engaged. Like the first half is spent finding the child then second half is spent finding the kidnapper.
Strangelove sooo underrated. S*** so funny. Also the last 10 minutes is the best end I’ve ever seen to a movie. Kinda makes me feel alright even if there was an apocalypse to come if that makes sense.
List of some of my personal favorites in no order:
Goodfellas
Hereditary
Heathers
The House that Jack Built
2001
The Shining
Rosemarys baby
Boogie nights
House
Irreversible
Nice to see some Noé love itt but i wouldn't put it over ETV & Climax solely based off rewatchablity alone
This is a f***ing heater also. Doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.
Honestly never see anyone mention this movie ever makes me sad because it's actually amazing
Portrait of a Young Girl at the End of the ’60s in Brussels
Trust
Celine and Julie go Boating
Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy
-honestly it's really hard to choose, there's like 40+ others that could go toe to toe w/ these that I equally love
Some of my favourites:
Remember the Daze
I watch it at least once every year
which reminds me i need to soon and get high as f*** to it
Nice to see some Noé love itt but i wouldn't put it over ETV & Climax solely based off rewatchablity alone
I still haven't see ETV soon though
Irreversible is operating at such a high level that, while it's extremely visceral and brutal, I can still have a kind of academic appreciation for the techniques and style
Some of my favourites:
Dead Ringers
