Whats the thing with it tho?
The higher the better?Whats it useful for?
    And is there a limit?

    Mines 685. So I'm close to 700.
I didn't get a credit card until about 2 and half years ago years ago. Always just paid the minimum.

I pay on time so I got that going for me

Upper limit is 850 but anything over 800 is pretty much “perfect”

If you have a low credit score, it’s really hard to get approved for any sort of loan without ridiculous interest rates

a lot of apartment listings require a minimum credit score too so if yours is trash it’s harder to find a place to live

The better your credit score, the more likely you are to get approved for loans, get favorable interest rates, etc.

bro in January this year my credit score was ~675

I ended up having to get a debt consolidation loan from my credit union to help pay off 2 maxed out credit cards that I was struggling to pay on time each month (but never missed a payment), totaling $3k. Credit union took care of both cards and closed them, and I thought s*** was good, got a much lower monthly payment through this loan too.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I get a call from Chase Bank about my Amazon card that was supposed to be paid off in full. They told me I have an outstanding balance of $250 on it, and I'm floored. I check out the statement online and apparently they charged me a late fee literally the day before it got paid in full by my credit union, and then charged me interest for the full balance pre-loan.

Since then it has been accumulating interest and late fees without me having a f***ing clue. I just paid it off in full, again, but holy god damn s***. I checked my credit score the other night and it dropped f***ing ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN POINTS.

F*** MY LIFE UP REAL GOOD

This is going to take f***ing forever to get back to what I had 7 months ago, and that wasn't even an amazing score to begin with

To anyone who feels down about a low score. My boy dropped out of college in 2014 and his score in 2016 was like 5xx. After a few good years and smart payments he’s back over 700.

It’s never the end of the world
