Mid for Drake but a classic compared to Dona or The Off-Season
Way 2 Sexy is the greatest song in his catalog
Cudi ruined the vibe. Hate him
Way 2 Sexy greatest song? Either you trolling or you smoking some s***
People s***ted on Take Care initially. Said NWTS was mid. Said VIEWS was trash. This happens every time, and I don't understand why it keeps happening because they always come around.
Also if you have to skip songs on album SO WHAT? You don't have to like every song. Some people may like songs you hate, just preskip them it's easy on streaming services. It's not about the # of skips it's about how much you love the songs on the project.
This is a great album to me. The ones that don't appeal to me will get skipped but I love the songs on here. Sorry.
Idc what other people say man. Take Care and Nothing Was the Same were amazing projects. Some flaws but overall his best albums for sure. Views is a great album for many reasons. It just disappoints on the rap side for the most part. CLB disappoints in so many areas.
One thing people don't seem to realize is that I never said CLB is bad. It's just a huge disappointment to me. It's cool all I'm saying is that I better not hear people and especially Drake himself say he the best or GOAT. This the fourth project in a row that ain't it.

Stopped reading after you said he couldn't make another cohesive record lol... This is the most cohesive album since Reading This.
You're tired. Rest up and give it a fresh listen in the AM mate.
This is exactly why Drake went and got Quentin in the first place, there’s no pleasing these niggas.
Honestly, I wish he still worked with other writers. The refreshing flows on IYRTITL were exactly why the project was as incredible as it was. We know Drake is a great rapper and writer… but he needs another lens… As most/all artists do after a certain point. It is impossible for him to get it on his own.
kinda agree with this, good take imo
I agree. I loved the outro. You can even hear the beat switch fade away on the CLB version smh
What you think bout the other leaks that made the album?
I agree, its a weird album for sure. I dont know if I like it or not.
It reminds me of views but without Controlla which makes up for views being subpar
i only replied cause i felt like your criticism sounded very personal, im gonna give you a nicer reply once i’ve listened and maybe i will understand some of your points. But fr my advice to you would be to stop listening for now n going to bed and then revisiting the album in the morning or middays when you’re fresh and motivated rather than drained and tired
I'll have more a detailed criticism in the morning but my opinion definitely won't change. Thanks for the kindness.
He definitely delivered for me. Feeling a 8.5-9/10 on this one after the first listen. Album felt concise with the theme and he didn't seem to "hit chase" on here, which furthered the cohesiveness for me. Production was also great.
Dope album but it's missing some of the leaks I know I heard and were dope af. Anyone got a folder?

Race My Mind is crazy good imo. If I’m not mistaken, I remember hearing a really short leak of that months ago. Not Around is whatever to me but it’s definitely album cut worthy. Fits the album concept Drake outlined in the album liner notes on Apple Music too.

How was Knife Talk at all concise with the theme? Should’ve named it Pillow Talk and have 21 come with some hoe bars. That would’ve been concise
Word. Lotta cap these days bro. It’s not our fault after all these years we hold Drake to a much higher standard. I expected so much more with all the hype and delays.
Only reason I hold him to a high standard is that I know what he is capable because of past songs and plus he keeps holding himself to a higher standard saying s*** like he the GOAT or "Shout out to Hov because it's him then me". The album is good man but is it touching TC, NTWS, IYRTITL? Hell nah. S*** I even like Views and More Life more. I thought it would be his magnum opus. I'ma still enjoy it for what it is but just hugely disappointed.
ya its just not for me
the songs I "like" are barely enjoyable
its drake tho so I owe it to him to give it another play or 2
Holy s*** is CLB a disappointment. I can't believe that this is the album we have been waiting 2-3 years for man. This was Drake's last chance. He can't make another classic, cohesive album to save his life. So many problems with this album.
Some pros about the album:
Idk man... I thought that this would be the one. I'ma still always be a fan and listen to his music of course but everytime he says something he's the best or the GOAT or "shout out to Hov because it's him then me" I'ma laugh and then put on some Kendrick f*** outta here nigga.
agree bro
Initial thoughts:
Some solid tunes but not two year delay solid
Production on the intro is fire
Jay doesn't really do much for lotta 42, wish they kept tha switch up instead
I think listening to those leaks ruined my perception lotta 42, intoxicated, not around etc. Regretting that decision
Why tf is future on two songs
The songs where its just him rapping are the best but they are kinda boring
pretty underwhelmed
Bunch of cool songs that I'm sure I will enjoy more overtime
Off the first listen I don't really get the Certified Lover Boy concept
Did he just pick that title because it sounds cool?
Happy that he spent more time experimenting with the production , transitions, etc but some of the ideas that I'm sure he intended to be impressive kinda fall flat or end up being dead ends that lead nowhere
Gotta dissect the verses but none of them blew me away on the first pass like LPF, BBKF, OYF, etc
Don't know if he sounds exhausted with the burden of being on top or if I'm just exhausted listening to this s*** at 3am
looking at the Preggo Emojis got me queezy and are definitely not helping me enjoy this album more. Can't believe his is going to be the cover. FOREVER. Smfh
Been literally anticipating this for two years, f***
Overall this seemed really unfocused and super long, wonder what happened to him wanting to do something more concise
Fully expect the critics to drag this
very mid and forgettable. i've listened to it twice and can barely think of any truly memorable moments that would make me wanna go back to it maybe besides the intro. there are no hits. the beats are lackluster. drake isn't rapping with any energy or singing with any emotion; its like he lost some of his love and passion for the music. he isn't saying anything new either. even the kanye diss was really forgettable and adds nothing new to this already pathetic feud.
Dark Lane Demo Tapes and Scorpion were better.
This album was boring asf in 1st listen and i don’t know if going aged well, cause the project have a worst Drake rollout, no singles, no videos (Just LNCL and don’t make the cut), Chromes Hearts merch is weak too and I’m tired of this Drake formula, worked in TC, NTWS and Views but don’t work no more these days, he feels tired ‘bout music in this project. ‘bout the features, where Sampha? James Fauntleroy? PX? Majid Jordan? These guys always make the difference, for real.

The rollout makes me think maybe he didn't believe it in like that idk
