Uzi has only been releasing a new album once every 3 years. Baby has been on somewhat the same schedule. Not counting EPs or collab albums
solo studio albums, yes. uzi has put out mixtapes, eps, a collab album, singles all in between...i get what you're saying, but when you really look at these dudes discographies they're definitely producing. sure not like future, but they drop a lot.
Baby put out 3 full length projects in 2018 alone. those could've been spread over 3 years. you feel me? lol
I’d rather have a great album every 2 years than a good album every year.
People get too caught up in consumption & forget that music is art, not a product.

They could've but I don't think they should've. When Future dropped Monster, Beast Mode, 56 Nights, DS2 back to back Epic stepped back and let him just do whatever he wanted because it was clearly working. When we look back on Drake or Future's legacy a big reason why they'll be remembered as 2 of the best is because of the sheer amount of moments they created for fans and the culture
Different artists have different creative processes. You can create a masterpiece in a week or a masterpiece in 5 years, but they'd be very different works most likely.
when it comes to drake though i want him to drop as much as possible rn cause to me he’s entered his second peak as of late
ever since hnvm he’s been on a roll and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon hopefully
really seems like he’s finally having fun with it and just f***ing around living the best life and making great music, also love that he’s dropping shorter and more focused projects again after quite a few lengthy albums, great comeback to form
(not that scorpion and clb are bad, they’re still really good but all in all i’ve enjoyed them less then drake’s previous output and hnvm and her loss, more life still goated though)

certain artists have better situations and more goodwill than others, so i wouldn't necessarily compare them like that. just tryna clarify that uzi has way more music than LIR2/EA/PT lol but we love albums so much that i get why we regard discographies the way we do sometimes.
I would prefer no new albums
drake drops every 8 months cause he gets like $50 million for an album
kendrick waited 5 years to drop an album from 2020 cause he was waiting on the pglang deal
these niggas acting like they give AF about delivering the best quality experience in 7D or some s***
It really depends on the rapper
I'll take as much currensy as I can get, I loved Waka in his prime dropping monthly, the amount of Gucci releases even in prison, etc
I don't want half baked Uzi albums or Carti albums or whatever at all let alone every year
i prefer 3 to 5. imagine if drake took a 5 year break and condensed all the best songs he woulda dropped in a 15-20 track classic. he would shut everybody up at that point. but he make microwave music so he gotta keep the sweatshop rollin
The more the merrier
I couldn’t imagine waiting 5 years for some nonsense therapy raps

This is a theory fans love to run with and I've never understood it. An artist taking 5 years off doesn't mean they'll return with some timeless album. In fact, often times, they don't.

id rather get one album of that in 5 years instead of a nigga crying about being rich every year
I think 1 project a year isn't too much to ask for
esp since they have harddrives full of material that will never see the light of day anyways
no reason these guys shouldn't have enough music to release a short 5 song project every year to keep their name relevant, test out sounds, keep fans happy
artists really been pushing it with this whole half a decade thing
Travis, Cardi, Chance, Wayne, Uzi, ALL should be putting out way more projects than they do, esp uzi with all these grails that honestly have less impact the longer he takes to release them
The more the merrier

I'm glad he's shooting at these artists who love to take half a decade off just to return with some mid. Nicki didn't drop a project in 4 years and when she finally dropped Queen in 2018, people moved on in less than a week lol. I imagine the same thing will happen when her next album drops. Same thing happened with Kendrick. Just look at how people are already over Uzi's album, his first in 3 years.
I think many artists will be shocked to see how quickly people move on from their new music, despite their time away. Drake cracked the code with his relentless consistency because he knows the key to this time we're in is consistently feeding your base.
