hell yes, one of his best releases honestly. especially the Bawlers disc of ballads. if it counted as an album itd be in my top 5
that f***in runtime has made me run away scared like 8 times lol. Looks like ill have to do it.
havent heard this one, only heard hats, will put it on my list
Yeah I recommended that album earlier in the thread, it's nearly as good as Hats and has one of their all time best songs.
Yep. It's got a lot of content but more to love. Plenty for everyone. It's like Mule Variations stretched out and reorganized into separate discs.
Mule Variations is everything. What's He Building?, Big in Japan, Cold water, get behind the mule, and so much more. Great later waits record
has anyone done the 3 cd waits album btw?
it’s a rough listen imo, i’d put it in the middle of his discog
of those decades in total or a specific decade? If you mean in total either Aretha or Nina. Coltrane could maybe overtake one of them but I have to listen to him more
oh, i meant favorites of the 40s and 50s

just break it up into chunks, theres no reason to try to listen all at once really
the b******s disc is the main problem
I bought the Real Gone vinyl for my best friend for his birthday one year and it turns out that was an extra thoughtful gift because the version that's on streaming isn't the same anymore. I didn't even realize.

Miles Davis for the 50s since Howlin has only one album from that time I think.
Billie Holiday for the 40s
if it was just brawlers and bawlers, that be a top 5 waits album easily, but b******s besides a few tracks is unnecessary
Anyone else like Japan and David Sylvian? I was obsessed with them in college. Now I'm coming back to Sylvian's solo stuff and discovering his connections to Ryuichi Sakamoto. He always had the best collaborations.
just realized siouxsie had quite a run in this part of the 80s. Juju, dreamhouse and Hyæna

Didn't even realise this was a different thread lol

Treasure
This Nation's Saving Grace

Best band during the 80s.

Gentlemen Take Polaroids is probably the best starting point for Japan
Secrets of the Beehive with those crazy Ryuichi arrangements for Sylvian
I relistened to KMKMKM a week or two ago and it definitely is my least favorite of their classics. It's got some jams but the production of the era kills that album and too many tracks meander around or don't stick.
Head on the Door has all the variety and just as many great songs in half the time.
I still haven't forgiven the first IT remake for that incredibly awful "Six Different Ways" needle drop. S*** made me legitimately angry when I watched it
MEAT PUPPETS
!https://youtu.be/F0IWHxvswLk!https://youtu.be/8pNAJFNd8Lk legendary
that cow punk/psychobilly western s*** of the 80s slaps
Check out Mekons sometime if you haven't, they're a really interesting blend of post punk and country rock.
The Gun Club killed this era too. Fire of Love and Miami are classics
X too
