I think scorpion was the first signs of some regression, then CLB continued that trajectory (didn’t alter it much), then HNVM and Her Loss solidified it for me that Drake is past his prime.
And that’s okay! It happens to all the greats. I still appreciate his work, but the number of songs I keep in rotation has continued to get smaller and smaller with every new release post-More Life.
Okay so while I generally liked CLB, I think it was a bit bloated
However, I loved HNVM and Her Loss
But I just haven’t been f***ing with FatD at all, it’s just too long and I’m not exciting for releases anymore (in general, for any artist)
I do really love Scary Hours 3 though
So it’s been a bumpy ride since CLB for me
Also, I really think Drake has to stop with long albums
It worked for Take Care, but there are songs on Views, Scorpion, More Life, CLB, and FATD that could have left out of the album
I love Views and Scorpion, but I don’t consider them classics because of that exact reason
I enjoyed DLDT, HNVM, Her Loss, Scary Hours 3 a lot because they were short. HNVM, Her Loss, and Scary Hours 3 also just felt like you knew there was a clear vision for those projects.
CLB album cover reveal. He just became so unserious to me. And the music that followed has been so mid.. I liked the idea and some songs of Honestly,Nevermind. I just wish the execution was better. Everything else NO

Bumpy ride? You only disliked fatd and loved her loss, hnvm and sh3 lmao
FATD is the first album for me that ages kinda like milk so far... in the past it was always the opposite
he lost his midas touch with views, an album that aged very well, however, it was very criticized at that time
Difference for me is he was really consistent until More Life I would say after that his projects were hit or miss for me. But overall I wouldn’t say he fell off. He has had a long career if he decides to retire today he still would be remembered for his discography and impact.
If he was a complete fall off he wouldn’t have released scary hours 3
Scorpion 1000%
Views and More Life are a step down from his earlier work but they have great cuts on each of them, and honestly don’t feel too unbearable length wise, those two albums also kinda signified what his albums would mostly become in the next couple of years for the most part, a couple of absolutely phenomenal tracks padded with middle of the road stuff or just laughably bad s***
both Scary Hours EPs are heat rock though

first half of Scorpion for me. if I ever listen back to that album I don't even bother with the first half, while there are quite few joints on the second half I like. after that it became relatively clear that bro was not interested in evolving or just being a serious artist anymore in general and was straight up chasing the bag. i liked quite a few joints off DLDT though, last album where i actually liked more than a couple tracks
Peak Drake feature rap verse : Churchil downs
Peak MC Drake: Middle of the ocean
Peak Blend: Hours of silence
Peak RnB Drake : Polar Opposites and Brahmas
In a lot of ways Drake still peak of his abilities. Y’all just hate to see someone run last so long. Hating because it’s popular to do
The post views n More Life era for me personally.
Thats when something happened with him to me and he never quite got back to his pre Views self.
You got Kendrick Lamar as your bio. When did Kendrick fall off for you? Was it waiting 5 years to drop the mid sheppers? Lol.
There’s no way you can argue Kendrick output has been better than Drake last 5 years 😂

When you stan so hard you can’t remove your emotions from a basic comment

Another day of thanking god for not giving me omega's brain
