probably 4 more and that's it
I think he already has posthumous material ready so it could be decades from now. Long after he passes and when he will finally get his flowers for being the GOAT.
We're just now entering the golden ages so it's a little early for this discussion honestly we should just enjoy the moment and not always look too far ahead or the good times will pass us by
Damn, the d*** sucking is crazy
I don't know. Maybe my standards are too high but Drake, to me, basically dropped a bunch of bloated playlist albums and streaming bait albums with Scorpion, DLDT, CLB, and FATD in recent years.
Her Loss was good(best Drake project this decade) but it's just a 7.5 quality trap album in the grand scheme of things. HNVM had amazing production and was a good change of pace but had the worst singing vocals in his career(which is a damn shame cause he literally sung better on Her Loss).
I dunno. I just think Drake is capable of better as an artist based on his prime.
Catalog and consistency matters to me more than catchy music.
He was capable, but I think he's said all he's had to say in that regard and is just having fun
The man gave us 4 classics (So Far Gone, Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, IYRTITL), he doesn't really owe us anything at this point. As long as the music isn't abject s*** I don't really care if he keeps making it. The bigger issue is the void of younger artists who can carry the torch for Drake, who is 100% an OG at this point.
It would be like relying on Hov in 2012 to lead the charge for hip hop. Bro just chilling at this point and has the right to
Like other than Carti, 21, Key Glock, Doja Cat, and Trav, I can't think of any new(er) mainstream artists who are even making good music lol, let alone classics
Meg and Sexyy Red are good wrt the specific lane of "female rap" they operate in but they're not filling, nor are they attempting to, the void of a generational artist a la Drake or Kendrick. Outside of them, in the mainstream, that lane's cooked too.

I agree with you about younger artists not capturing the essence of what made the "Big 3" so impactful albeit that's been discussed ad nauseam on here.

The shame, which has again been discussed ad nauseum here, is that overall in hip hop, there are a lot of younger artists making great and even perfectly accessible music that's getting sidelined by algorithms steering the culture at this point
I don't see Drake slowing down or retiring anytime soon. He clearly cares about numbers and dominating the rap game and Billboard.
And it's not like Drake is targeted by opps, has d*** issues, baby mama drama, or in and out of jail. He's in a very safe position. Only thing that could stop him is the grooming allegations being true and, even then, that'll be more of a PR battle that he could overcome.
I don't think 09-15 or More Life Drake is coming back though based on FATD though. FATD had a strong promise to it with a concept and "old Drake" nostalgia bait and he totally fumbled it and dropped another playlist album that was all over the place.
But, as long as he has his prime, he's set just like Eminem is set based on his prime. Primes matter more than staying hot forever in hip hop. Just look at 50's Final Lap tour.
I do feel you but sometimes the urge to chill hits you strongly and outta nowhere
Bro might wake up one day and say damn i need a break fr and u couldnt blame him
Im not counting on that or hoping for that though

Drake's earned the right to do as he pleases as long as he isn't dropping literal ass
I wouldn't say any of his recent output is hurting hip hop even if it's not elevating it. The lack of better content in the mainstream than his stuff is hurting the culture, which isn't his fault. The glut of mainstream hip hop at this point is the worst it's ever been
Until Drake is out here making Revival tier music, in all seriousness dude can do as he pleases. Even his "bad" albums have undeniable slaps on them

Because the big 3 never sparked the collective imaginations of US urban black male youth. Not the way the most dominant goats before them did. This is why the game as it has moved forward has looked more like a constantly feeding loop of young men more influenced by the likes of Future/Thug/Keef - despite all this occurring right under the undeniable domination of the big 3
Relatively speaking, Drake is still a very young person in music (only in his 30's), so he actually has a lot more albums left in him however long he still wants to continue.
That's his industry age. Drake is actually 57

From your perspective, why do you feel that the big 3 hasn't achieved this?
I'm not qualified to weigh in on this because I'm not black, but I'd be interested, if you're willing, to see why you feel this way.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he only dropped like 2 more but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he dropped like 12
Hes truly in a position where he can do whatever he want, this term is over used but hes one of the best examples of a living legend
When he hits 45 and drops his 4:44 style album looking back on his reign I’ll finally be at peace
