Well people who have this criticism are just looking for more substance. At the end of the day art is subjective, if you like Drake's music you are not any better or worse than somebody who doesn't, but some people prefer more substantial music with introspective lyrics.

Drake drops every single year and I really don't know anything about him. Which is cool, we the listener are not entitled to him or his personal life or whatever, but he just doesn't make the type of music I want to listen to. I still listen when he drops cause his albums usually have 2-3 standouts to me but some people just view him as pop music and that's fine, there's nothing wrong with that

This is a fair response, not mad at it. None of us know Drake personally to say whether it's an act that he is the way he is but he was a little more introspective once upon a time so I'm not gonna hate on this, though he still does tap into those pockets occasionally imo just maybe not across a whole project.

I can see the argument of "We don't know much about him" I mean we do, but I suppose not as of late. He's held to a different standard than most and that's because of how he came up, so wanting more than tracks that simply sound good but lack a lot of depth is a valid complaint.
