You never amount any net worth living like that. Saving money to buy a pair of shoes that are overpriced almost 10x due to resale, is very irresponsible.

I assume both of you are in your early 20’s or late teens. The sooner you guys learn about how to manage money, the better your future will be.

I never said I've done that for a pair of shoes. I've saved up to buy the clothes I like instead of cheap knockoffs or reps, but I've never paid resale for sneakers.
