Where else do you guys browse or get info from? Personally, I'm on the Basement, High Fashion Talk, and mostly just follow a lot of smaller instagram accounts (@samutaro is GOAT)

Old sufu sz fuk and 5d threads, bibbygregory on twitter usually has cool s***, archive pdf on tumblr posts books and look books that are full of good content. There are also a bunch of podcasts I like who tend to have knowledgeable guests such as blamo and highsnobiety

Taking notes 📝
Never even heard of 5d, you got more info on it?
TBH I started paying more attention to the history of brands and specific collections because of Avery Ginsberg and Fernando Rangel on YouTube, and I just started looking into stuff myself from that. Vogue has runways from a lot of seasons dating back the past 20 years or so as well, so that's cool to look through sometimes.

5th-dimension.info/forum It’s basically abandoned at this point

I'm not much of a history guy moreso than a guy who just likes to buy clothes
but when you've been doing this for years you tend to pick things up, especially when you really like a brand and want to get deeper into it
so yeah a lot of it for me is just browsing clothes online lol but I've been doing the fashion classes online recently, some magazines and editorial books, but sadly as much as I would like to read novels I struggle a lot
as for forums I check styleforum rarely, stylezeitgeist kinda but its dead, r/malefashionadvice and r/malefashion (the former mostly for the discussion but it's not that good lol I just skim through it).
otherwise I've wound up in like every fashion discord server at this point lol, I just don't really participate in all of em
kinda like Theodore said, I don't know much about archive brands, who ran which Fashion House in which year, etc. but I've just always been into clothes & design.
What really even got me into clothes like that was Pharrel, Ye, The Clipse, Wayne, etc. wearing BAPE, Ice Cream and BBC

Mid 2000s to early 2010s and they seem like a mix of niketalk and sufu imo

What sort of online classes do you recommend? I’ve completed the MoMA “Fashion as design” course but it is more focused on sustainability etc, not really history of fashion per se

im doing that MoMA one and these 3
the first one is most focused on history and philosophy, second is sustainability, third is very very short but I wanna see what it's about

This thread kind popped! Lots of good contributions so far. Also starting to get into magazines. Reading some old hypebeast issues and system magazine so far. I have a list of like 10-20 fashion magazines recommended to me but I figured I'd start with those two first and try to exhaust their print issues before moving onto other mags.
y'all got any magazine recommendations?

All this and the fact Kanye’s blog exposed me to a lot of culture and cool s*** way back in 07. Haven’t looked back since

Also just stumbled upon Gwarizm, apparently he was an underground legend and had knowledge about all things sneaker related. His IG and old blog is really interesting, has killer book recommendations too
Like a few others said alot of it is just picking things up from constant exposure in a multitude of ways. Over time you just sorta know s***. The very lil knowledge that I do have is from looking at runway shows reading designers interviews and constantly browsing ebay/grailed. I owe alot to Hypebeast.com for exposing my younger self to things as well.
