it’s much more simplified so it doesn’t really feel as good as 7 or 8, that’s kinda my only complaint

6 is very good too

Only final fantasy game I woild recommend staying the hell away from is final fantasy 4

4-6 on updated hardware like the PS1/PSP and GBA/Nintendo DS are Great.

7-9 is good. Play the updated PC port for 7-8 or the switch versions. The PC port of 9 is horrendous so play any port that isn't that one.

10 is still great

13 desperately needs an updated port.

4 is alright on the DS. Probably my favorite of the classic games and it's sequel game.

I can't play that game anymore man that ds version traumatized me as a kid, and playing the OG snes versioon last year just convinced me that this game aged like s*** on all aspects, I really despise it 😭

7 story was fire to me but I’m used to convoluted Japanese storytelling

Oh yeah im not saying the stories are necesseraly bad, actually 7 story is one of the best in the series imo I just think where the games shine is in the gameplay mechanics and stuff like that

9s story and setting is really nice and the English translation is actually great so the writing is very good but the gameplay is slow asl so if that's not something u think u can get over maybe wait a bit before playing it I guess yeah

The 5 and 6 modern ports are horrible tho they look nothing like the actual games, it's better to play them emulated imo but if you don't have a pc idk how that would work 🤔

Right, I definitely recommend not playing 5 and 6 any other way than emulated tbh, but 8, 9 and 10 are very good and the ports are OK on ps4 I think so maybe try that, they're all classic games tbhc
