Lol you’ve got to be kidding me with this question.

It is, without a doubt, music. I work in the fashion industry and tbh his “influence” is kind of a joke to everyone inside it. I feel pity a lot when fashion-related conversations come up about Kanye in the workplace. And tbh their arguments hold merit.

You’re delusional if you really think these incredibly talented fashion houses that have been around for a hundred years are just PRAISING Kanye for his beautiful contribution of s***ty street wear unto the world of fashion.

    You guys are hilarious.

For the common man and public his influence is pretty big, he’s no genius but he’s done a lot

Literally f***ing Virgil alone has 100x the influence in the industry as Kanye and that’s from someone who thinks Abloh himself is a tad overrated.

Yeah but his influence is Born and apart of Ye influence.

Just because Kanye is Kanye though. Not because of Kanye’s skill.

If Kanye didn’t have the prior musical influence he did, he wouldn’t have made it even a step in the fashion world, and influenced nobody.

Skill doesn't matter in terms of influence.

Walt Disney wasn't more skilled then Ub iwerks but it's doesn't matter it's Walt's influence not Ubs.

Also Virgil wouldn't have his connects if not for Kanye fame so that doesn't really seem fair.

He only blew up because he was Ye sidekick who he took everywhere

    That doesn’t make sense.

If I simply introduce you to the world of fashion, That automatically means that you can’t do more things with it in your lifetime than me?

No it's just means you're fruit off that tree

Honestly can trace this “drip” bullshit directly back to Ye, Pharrell, and Rocky.

rocky was influenced by Ye in terms of mixing high fashion w/ music

Music easily. College dropout, graduation and 808s are some of the most influential not just in hip hop, but music overall. Pop music was hugely influenced by Graduation and 808s especially.
