    the answer is BOTH

  • Nov 16, 2019

Too many people have different opinions on music to say it’s that. So fashion even tho the answer is both

  • Nov 16, 2019

    Both

Lol you’ve got to be kidding me with this question.

It is, without a doubt, music. I work in the fashion industry and tbh his “influence” is kind of a joke to everyone inside it. I feel pity a lot when fashion-related conversations come up about Kanye in the workplace. And tbh their arguments hold merit.

You’re delusional if you really think these incredibly talented fashion houses that have been around for a hundred years are just PRAISING Kanye for his beautiful contribution of s***ty street wear unto the world of fashion.

    You guys are hilarious.

Thanks for letting us know that Kanye’s words about you guys have been true

Easily music are y’all joking lmao

I feel torn because being the first non sports player to outgtoss athletes in th sneaker game and building a billion dollar company fast then NO along with mentoring Virgil the first black man to head LV.

Not to mention the rappers who in fashion now cause of him you could make a stronger argument for fashion over music.

It's been plenty of Kanyes in music in terms of helping other artist on but in fashion especially footwear he's an anomaly.

  • Nov 16, 2019

Hate how influence is framed, would rather we talk about which project by an artist is most influential than talk about which artist is most influential. It just becomes a d*** measuring about our favourite artist tbh

I somehow agree with you. Honestly it's insane how despire how massively influential he's been in music, you could make a strong argument about his influence being even bigger in fashion

Fashion because he started the domino effect that leads to today every artist having some type of collection with a brand and along with Pharrell just created the atmosphere for streetwear and high fashion to collide with music.

Along with the DONDA alumni that went on to be major players in fashion right now.

His music influence kinda dies with Cole, Sean and Drake. I don't know too many new kids tryna sound like Ye.

But it’s not because it’s GOOD though. People are going to wear it because it’s Kanye West’s line and that’s that.

All of these respectable fashion designers had to produce ACTUAL good artwork for their name to be known. They’ve truly influenced the industry with their creative imaging.

Kanye’s clothing is like a child coloring in a book compared to that. It’s really bad, you guys. Pay less attention to the numbers because they’re going to be there as long as he’s him.

Kanye is legitimately the reason why every nigga started wearing Chelsea’s

He’s legitimately the reason why every chick wears clear heels

He’s legitimately the reason for the death of the platform heel

He’s legitimately the reason why Adidas is cool again

I can go on for days

This is how you know he doesn’t get nearly as much credit as he deserves if even on a forum named after him niggas criminally underestimate his massive influence in fashion smh

That would be impact. Influence would be people making albums that are inspired or sound like Kanye. Aka Chance.
