How hard was your journey in Arabic?

I grew up reading Arabic scripture as a pretty committed Muslim and learning the script via Farsi/Pashto so reading was always a bit easy

Phonetics, grammar, and vocabulary was always hard

Arabic etymology is a very interesting field and useful for learning vocabulary

started semi intensive french school today and its like in one day it unlocked a new level of comfort in my speech. im excited to see how far i can advance in the next 3mos

at least it's phonetical. once you learn the alphabet you can read any sentence. s*** like English and French are dogshit in that regard with so many unpronounced letters and exceptions
