This is not success to call dominant. Kendrick got Interscope to bought their own copies. Kendrick has a own tour in decade why others have a tons
don't get it confused bro. There has never been any evidence of interscope buying albums.
On the other hand, drake got ymcmb & birdman to buy his own records
it was well documented that birdman bought copies of carter 4

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Drake was most dominant but Kendrick was most respected
album sales have plummeted in the streaming era lol
those albums wouldve sold 2/3 if not half what they did if they came out today
Big artists like Drake and Taylor Swift get so many streams that imo they are still hitting numbers close to pure album sales... plus Drake releasing 25 song albums helps his case...
You can't deny that releasing more songs boosts the album sales, whereas buying 1 copy was 1 copy regardless of song lengths (unless sold and counted as a double album)

No lol bigger artists sales are also down like crazy lol at the end of the day 1500 streams is a harder thing to get than 1 sale as an artist lol. Drake gets streams close to his previous pure album sales right now because he's really bigger than he's ever been. Look at Taylor who easily reached 6-7x plat before, her new s*** will never reach 3x now lol.
Also for your length point when it comes to Drake, if you cut the last 10 songs off his albums, he'd still set a record. And that's without taking into account the fact that with a smaller tracklist, consumers are more eager to replay the songs lol.

If you think Birdman bought them for Drake, you're dumb. He can't even paid Lil Wayne. If he got someone bought him copies Apple ain't gave him 19 millions alone deal.
Drake made the worst music of the three during these periods
Awe that’s great but people still wanted to listen to that over the other niggas so what does that mean

Well I guess I don't care enough about sales in general to have had this knowledge. Never looked up album equivalent stream numbers before. Good for Drake I guess then he's getting crazy numbers... I still think his music is garbage though

Ed Sheeran getting more plays than anyone discussed in this thread. Next!

I don’t see your point
I shouldn't have joined a thread talking about "dominance" in the music industry... I always thought that meant a combination of influence, acclaim, and popularity, not just popularity
And don't try to tell me Drake is all that influential, he's the biggest son of Ye and Cudi out there
Kanye had the greatest run of quality/classic albums. Drake has had one of the greatest runs of popularity/hits

Except Cudi has no influence on Drake
Drake is a combination of Aaliyah, Jay Z, Ye, Joe Budden & Phonte
I can tell you got into rap in 2010s

Drake was begging Cudi to come to Toronto to hangout and begged to hop on the day n night remix
Drake said himself Kanye is his biggest influence and favorite artist ever.
