"past his prime" doesnt mean incapable of great music though. ive noticed some people (not specifically you) seem to think that even GOAT level artists are just completely done creatively once they hit like 40 (even 30 tbh) and i dont think thats true. yeah some of them totally fall off but some of them are capable of great late career albums with a different perspective than their younger stuff
ex: Miles Davis made B****es Brew when he was in his mid 40s
Fam don’t compare Donda to b****es brew
I do get ur ponint tho

Did I compare Donda to B****es Brew? or did I just mention it as an obvious extreme example that later career albums can be great and shouldn't be disregarded as "past prime"?
I dont think Donda is a masterpiece or anything anyway

B****es Brew is Miles’ second best album
DONDA is Kanye not even near his former self. That was just a return to form and idk if that can even be debated

yeah i agree, i think it can be debated but Donda is just like a solid-great album to me within a great discography
again not comparing to B****es Brew but thats also an album that people have been debating since it came out (less so recently), some people thought it sucked and i have still seen occasional weirdos to this day claim its not even jazz
better comparison to Donda might be something like a later career Paul McCartney solo album where he made a decent one and showed he still had something left after a few shaky ones
Ye had his best album in five years but Tyler’s was better, tho prob Tyler’s worst in five years
