Trilogy tapes and kissland put weekends discography above champagnepapa and that’s not even counting Starboy (a perfect pop album) and after hours which is the embodiment of synthwave and modern r&b.

now that I think of it you're right. Though I'd argue now he goes for a more commercial sound half the time whereas back then everything was indie/artsy. Even the pop songs like Wanderlust were interesting concepts.
