To fully understand you are wrong, 2000, 2001, 2002 were no streams, youtube, equivalent units and bullshit. See the "pure CD sales" that Em sold and then remove all "streaming equivalent units" off Drake's numbers (sales) and you will understand why Em is bigger.

that trend with calling albums playlists was so weak i understand it as a concept but to be like “no it’s not an album it’s a playlist” is like when something gets marketed as an album then called a mixtape when it does under 100k first week

i love drake but the success of songs released on streaming can’t be compared to songs 40 years ago. if thriller came out today it would’ve occupied the entire hot 100 top 10

aftermath’s run in the 2000s was on another level

I didn't even start listening to rap until 2005 (outside of pop-adjacent stuff like Nelly, Snoop and Jay's crossover stuff, basically anything Pharrell was attached to) but I knew who Eminem was. Everybody did and everybody had an opinion on him. He was a pop culture phenomenon. Drake annoyed some oldheads during his come up but Em had everyone in a stranglehold.

No rapper has a better 2 or 3 year run than 50. If you include Drake's career it's Drake but if you just doing short runs like that it's always 50
