China is catching up very fast tbh. China is building it's navy with pace rarely seen in the west during peacetime. Their navy ship yards have doubled in 5 years.

It could go both ways. China is leading the world right now in the A.I race.

A war in 2020 isn’t going to be people shooting each other back and forth in trenches, that’s so last century lol.

A Modern war between 2 powerhouse countries is gonna have A.I drones, autonomous weapons and other crazy s*** that utilizes A.I/machine learning algorithms.

There will never be another direct war between US and anyone. It will either be a price war or a proxy war which is what’s been happening since the end of the Iraq/afghan war.

The only engagements that take place will be with smaller special operation forces such as Delta, Seals or Green Berets.

Even Rangers won’t get into serious engagements for a while.

US alone is 1/3 of the entire world’s military budget, it’s nuts

  • Jun 20, 2020

world ain’t really like that anymore, you’re not gonna see 2 huge powers like china and the us fight militarily head on. both countries would lose too much and are too dependent on each other financially. it just doesn’t make sense

but if we going hypothetically china would get smoked

they will be one of them for sure, but it’s not gonna be unipolar like it is now with the US as the lone superpower. it’ll be a multipolar world with a couple countries that are superpowers. we been fading into that for the last couple decades

How did the US get so military heavy? I know they increased significantly in the 1910s and from then on we've just gotten huge

And Americans want to defund/downsize the military which is already in a recruiting crisis?

Yeah ain’t gonna happen. Too many soft Americans who think the world is cozy and kind when it’s a harsh world out there

Those numbers are fake. China is spending way more on defense (around 400 billion based on PPP)

    Great video:

China spends less because it costs less for them to manufacture They have more destroyers now at one base than the entire British Navy lol

a lot of it has to do with post-ww2 intl order that we helped found, helping establish organizations the IMF and World Bank that are basically just extensions of american ideology

also the fact that we have bases all over the world even in countries we're allies with, which gets taken for granted by americans but it's pretty wild when you think about it. there's never been anything on that level in world history

  • Jun 20, 2020

China also significantly leads the world in the adoption of 5G and the deployment of 5G infrastructure.

We’re already in the midst of a Cold War with China if we’re being real here.

For real. America is actually crazy when it comes to dominance in this world. Everyone in every other country knows what America is whether they think good or bad about us. And people do take those bases for granted. We have a source of protection and comfort where ever we travel just about.

It's insane how America is. If one country could take over the world I'd bet my money on America tbh.

NATO is critical in facing the Chinese threat. It is not the irrelevant entity it's made out to be. We actually need it more than ever. Today, Nato has 30 members including most of Europe, representing a population of more than 980 million.

Also Trump is right about NATO partners not spending enough, every NATO country should be paying a minimum of 2%.

The accumulated increase in defense spending by the end of 2024 will be 400 billion U.S. dollars. This is unprecedented progress,” Stoltenberg told a news conference before the NATO summit in London next Tuesday and Wednesday.
