I'll be honest new music in general just isn't hitting like it did. I don't know what it is but like the mixing and mastering + production seems so much worse than it did even like 15 years ago.

IMO all the albums in the op didn't go far enough with the production and wear "dance music" as an aesthetic.

I could be wrong but I don't think any of them really collab'd with well known dance producers either. The exception could be Honestly, Nevermind, which has Gordo all over it, but he's pretty mid in my opinion. I don't know why Drake didn't try and get Kaytranada on at least one song for that project.

There's probably also something to be said that four of these albums are by mostly cis straight dudes but I'm not smart enough to articulate that.

Electronic music fans acted like Drake didn't belong in that lane. The album is fire but the way people acted because he dared to even venture into that genre and put that album out wasn't valid.
