I mean the real story is cash snuck nav onto the song while no one was in the studio which is why it came out like that
Respect the hustle but now since the drake diss I feel like cash was swinging an xo chain in front of travis’ face in the studio lobby for 15 mins for nav to punch it in
Just my theory
swining xo chain in front of his face is hilarious
no it's pretty s*** from a technical standpoint past just weird recording technique
but i think w donda the sound ye was going for was over-processed AI-core tiktok stuff. think like fanmade carti remixes that were huge around that time. so a lot of the technical shortcomings are probably artistic choices and not just f***ups by the engineers.
Nah.
I think it was just rushed, or he just doesn’t really care.
Explain that first release of Life of Pablo.
i see this sentiment a lot of the time recently within the rap community
so many casual listeners are now complaining about or critiquing mixing
anyone else notice this?
mixing doesnt bother me unless my ears hurt or i cant hear u or the vocals are obnoxiously loud
99% of people have no idea what theyre talking about when they discuss mixing. even the ones that do are misguided and don't understand that if it's a competent artist we're talking about 9 times out of 10 the unorthodox mixing is intended. you can say you don't like it, but calling it "bad" when it's art we're discussing is nuts

nah if it was rushed they woulda fixed it.
also peep my post abt the pop smoke song lol. i mean theres no way u put something so poorly engineered on ur project by accident. im pretty sure the donda sound was meant to be ass by traditional standards lol.
keep in mind i do not like that album tho so im definitely biased lol
I see it as someone who just listens to music either in the background and/or now and again, but who doesn’t look up lyrics or really engage with it, beyond having it on because it sounds nice, or the lyrics in the chorus speak to them.
There is nothing wrong with this, but they have different listening habits, and different things are important to them.
They also outnumber the more hardcore listeners at least 20 to 1
Thanks for the explanation famo

From a technical standpoint you are wrong
i miss when ye would actually record in studios
Yup
And you can’t blame the engineer when it doesn’t sound good. Only so much he can do with a bad recording . That’s mixing 101 . Get it good from the source
Early MIKE
nah that sht was dirty bc they were recording out the closet type s***. not like a perfectly clean mix was even an option. i think he made the dirty mixes work rlly well tho, to a point where it might be a less appealing listen with a super clean mix
Notice that most albums sound good in reverse order . Wonder if that’s part of mastering
Im always posting on this site i dont even know what mixing is. When I watch YouTube videos like peso palace where they teach you how to change things i never hear the differences they say are different. There’s no way that many people can tell the difference too theyre bullshitting. Unless you make music or something
why didnt they just cut his verse lmao
they didn’t know hahahaha it was literally the last day of mixing/mastering at mike deans before they had to submit
Most talk about mixing because of being fantanostylepilled and because the listener has become the critic as opposed to the enjoyer. No one know how to take a song in these days. Besides me, of course
that critic as opposed to the enjoyer line hard as hell! i’m def saving that

tyler cherry bomb unlistenable
Never understood it either. Pretty much any song I see criticized for being mixed poorly sounds fine to me. I use AirPods pro so not even bad headphones. If you make music it’s understandable that you notice stuff like that but if not it’s just weirdo nerd behavior imo

Everyone think they an engineer, if they wanna hear good mixes they shouldve signed up to tidal when it dropped... beggers cant be choosers dunny

lol retard
On a mainstream level, it matters.
Independently, I could care less.
i don't get this

Na not to do with mastering, that’s all sequencing which is up to the artist/label
