it was the best, better than twitter, IG, FB, tiktok all that
the music industry just didn't have their business sorted out
and it was pre streaming, everybody could upload and add songs on their page

The crawl as my family computer (that was from the early 2000s) would try to scroll through a MySpace page filled with more autism and bloat than a Steven Universe convention

Would love to go back to those days

MySpace is the Nicki Minaj of social media.

    Facebook is Iggy Azealia.

Twitter and Instagram is Cardi B.

To have some loud ass soulja boy blast from my speakers as soon as I went into a page, and that sensual experience would immediately be coupled by a blinding multi colored background with an essay long bio in an unreadable font

It’s just an internet that’s impossible to describe to anyone that’s only used the sterile flash-deprived landscape we have now

  • because other social media platforms were more profitable

Imagine telling someone that there was social media that you actually physically could not keep up with all hours of the day

Even most laptops didn’t have native wifi connectivity around 05-06 iirc

There was a max exodus to Facebook

Best way to describe it is how KTT1 was once KTT2 was launched

Those Facebook games were like crack for dudes my age

And they all had that sorta predatory mechanic where you get x amount of lives/energy until the next day, so you had to check routinely. I think MS may have had games but it wasn’t anywhere close

Essentially. Facebook capitalized on minimalism in a time where it was ironically niche at the time. That and there was some mismanagement on the part of MySpace. Fun fact Zuck took fb to MySpace to buy it but they declined
