MySpace is the Nicki Minaj of social media.
Facebook is Iggy Azealia.
Twitter and Instagram is Cardi B.
Twitter is Kanye
Had a undeniably classic run for longer than all of its peers that fell off when it took an impulsive conservative turn, but is still worth checking out from time to time
Facebook just took over and had a more basic/simple set up so it could appeal to more people
It's better suited for advertisers, I'm not surprised old people jumped into FB but I would be surprised to see grandmas on Myspace
To have some loud ass soulja boy blast from my speakers as soon as I went into a page, and that sensual experience would immediately be coupled by a blinding multi colored background with an essay long bio in an unreadable font
It’s just an internet that’s impossible to describe to anyone that’s only used the sterile flash-deprived landscape we have now
Taking me back with that description
Didn’t it begin to fall off after the founder sold MySpace
Idk, but I remember when Instagram started to suck, an app called Hive started up and was marketed as the new replacement. I figured there was a big chance that everyone would migrate to that one, but it never happened
It was pretty cool in theory, had the Instagram/MySpace combination down pretty well with personalized profiles n whatnot
The layout change was the fall off and Facebook just being the cool thing to move onto even if that s*** was nothing compared to MySpace

It’s not really hard to understand why MySpace died. The Founder Effect is real, in fact Instagram wouldn’t be the same if Krieger and Systrom had left when Facebook bought them 12 years ago
Once the parents got on myspace, it became weird. So everyone moved to the next platform.
Also Facebook was only for College students at one point. So it was the cooler and more exclusive platform. Then when it opened to the public, it exploded.
Then again, when the parents got on Facebook people went to Twitter.

The problem with Hive is that I think it's still being worked on by just two people that's been working on it from the beginning. I don't think they expected people to jump to the platform so quickly.
Apparently, they're planning on putting out a big qol update sometime this summer, so at least the platform is still alive.
I was the prime age for MySpace but I never joined…..now that I think about it no one ever really asked me about one anyways 🥲
the customization you could do for your profile on myspace was elite
i think facebook took over because it was much more user friendly in terms of communicating with friends
It was hard to find people on myspace because you had to know their username. A huge aspect of social media is connecting and finding people and Facebook did that 1000x better than myspace ever did.
internet being slower was better tbh
FACTS and the increased speed of the net increased anxiety in humans IYKYK
Where’s xanga gang at
