I mean, i do think Nas underperformed on Nasir. The thing is not because of the production, there is a clear difference in energy between that album and King's Disease lol. Nas sounds much smoother now

The Ye prod was great but not cutting edge either, title track on King's Disease and The Cure instrumental are just as good as some of those beats on Nasir, in my eyes

Kings Disease was better cause the producer and rapper were in the studio working together and Nas put more effort in it. Ye sending Nas beats probably threw Nas off and didnt feel like it was that much of an important album. Nasir was more for Ye's benefit than Nas

Obviously Hit Boy's prod was much better

Nasir was a rushed half assed project but that was Ye's fault, I already elaborated about it in the previous page lol

But anyway even then Nas didn't lose his pen, no one else in hip hop could've written a track like Adam and Eve and he was still killing feats at the time.

Kinda sucks that Ye blew it bc he was on his bipolar s*** and the music was a secondary priority to him. Now fans will think their chemistry is just not good which isn't true bc they've made great tracks together before.

But Nas sounds great with many other producers so I'm not stressing it.
