Been playing a lot of Thugger recently, flipping between the Slime Seasons and So Much Fun

There’s a noticeable change in his delivery from about 2017-present. It went from a spiked up late 2000s Wayne delivery to a more Future-esque delivery on So Much Fun

Now I know commercial appeal played a part but that really wasn’t the reason Thug wasn’t selling. It was mainly from lack of effort in promotion.

I hear that old Thug sound in Lil Keed but it don’t hit the same because it’s only one Thugger

accessibility, and by extension, money

He has flashes of the old thugger sound like on this

Hope he drops some experimental s*** though once he is done chasing a bag

i wonder how much of his expenses are for people like YSL, his family, etc

it’s real asf that he’s using his money for others, like when he went and paid for a ton of people’s bail, but we have to accept that it means he’s gonna water his style down for sales

maybe he’ll return once he’s created a solid foundation of prosperity for everyone around him

He was having a lot of trouble with sales so I think he wanted a hit album

Also Gunna and Lil Baby success inspired him to play around with that style more

Young thug sounds nothing like Future, future is actually trash too since we talkin bout it, Thug only can swag rap and do good on collabs/features

I don’t think SS3, BTG, or Jeffery were regression. Everything after tho is questionable

You listen to Keed features lately @op he def taking that Jeffery sound and putting his own twist on it

Also yea its been discussed among long time Thug fans that he had to polish his sound and image a lot for mainstream acceptance, its good for him but kinda sad for the us fans that really enjoyed his creative people and never knowing what to expect from him

Isn’t punk supposed to be more experimental for him? I believe SMF was the fun party record

think there were hints around this era but i still consider it part of his prime. Young martha was great too.

Because of a proper rollout (interviews, big singles, star studded features & big feature placements)

I doubt it had much to do with his style. I could be wrong tho
