Travis never been a producer, he is a curator like Rick Rubin.

Rodeo and Astroworld>>>>>any Tyler project that isnt FB

U don’t have to call him a curator bro, if anything that’s what he is now. He definitely used to be a producer

  • Sep 6, 2020

its not comparable at all.. tyler does 100% of the prod himself on his albums, travis brings in many others to work on songs and doesnt even have prod credits on most of his songs now

  • Sep 6, 2020

    Does Travis even produce anymore?

  • Sep 6, 2020

It's because Travis Scott is an AUDIO TERRORIST

  • Cuz Travis was never really a producer like Tyler. 90% of his production is co-production, and that can get tricky. Co-production can be anything from contributing significantly to pointing at pro tools and adding a hi-hat.

Tyler’s production still sounds like it’s from a high schooler.

You gotta understand that producing is different now. Vinylz hasn’t had a solo produced hit in 5 years and he’s still one of the best in the game. Hip hop is collaborative by nature, and producing your s*** solo is cool if you want other producers and ktt niggas to suck u off but collaborating doesn’t make u less of a producer

  • Sep 6, 2020

Boi-1da hasn’t had a solo produced hit in years either, that’s wild

  • Sep 6, 2020

travis just got comfortable in his sound

you could literally see it happen in Birds

    Yeah it does.

Preemo did all his s*** by himself.

Just like all of the greats from the 90's.
If you cant hold it down by yourself and need collaborators to get the sound out then you are not elite.

These new cats are living in the Lebrom era where everyone wants to be kumbaya and team up.

I'm from the era where niggas wanted to be the best.

loop culture and multiple people all sitting at a laptop =/= people doing whole genius deconstructed breakdown of travis scott beats without travis scott having to be in the room

    travis is an orchestrator

  • Drive is such a nice beat and trav did that s*** all himself. really wish he would just lock in and make beats for a few months

Aside from beat making Travis is too popular to be super creative at this point, labels won't let their biggest investments go left field in 2020

Those just aren’t Travis Scott beats then. I think you’re going into his music thinking all the beats you hear are supposed to be made by him, that’s just cap

He used to solo produce and now he doesn’t, and it makes sense because he’s surrounded by some of the greatest producers of all time at all times now. it only makes sense that he collaborates with them a lot. But they’re by no means his beats

I agree though, he used to be a producer but now he’s more of a curator
