he asked about jesus being the son of god
how are you supposed to understand the basics of that if your entire theology is infected???
have you read the Bible? gone to church and consistently for a few weeks? listened to a full sermon? all that would help with understanding. But if you decide not to believe, then don't come into these threads trashing other people's faith. OP was asking a simple question and most people itt were nice to him.
I could see if you said "I don't believe cuz I think it's flawed, etc" but don't say the "entire theology is infected". If I were to say that about a Muslim's beliefs I'd be reported and dragged to hell and back, and rightfully so. Just cuz YOU don't believe in something doesn't mean it's acceptable to spread that disdain for it around people. Especially in an environment where people are actually trying to learn about it
I never understood why people think this?
It doesn't make sense for a unimaginable thing (God) to either have a offspring.
And if Jesus was God/Son of God why would he have to die to forgive our sins? why wouldn't our sins just be forgiven by simply asking.
In my eyes Jesus was definitely real but instead of being a deity he was simply a prophet
From what i understand, it goes like this.
We are too evil for god to interact with directly. So in the old testiment, ppl HAD to pray in groups with a priest, and they confessed their sins to a priest so that the priest could then pass this onto god for them.
Since jesus has died, we are now able to pray to him, so he can pass the "news" onto god.
Thats the purpose of god sending his son to earth. Thats how he 'died for our sins'.
mary wasn't a virgin, gods piece just wasnt big enough to break the hymen
Bruh

Theology is created by men. What is God, is created by God and God only. Theology and the Bible are two different orders.
All things happen in this world for the glory of the Father. At this point.. for a short time, the world has been given to hands of the wicked. Seed of the devil. This is why all things are corrupt in this world.
One shouldn’t create a doctrine just to make themselves feel better. This is what the w**** of Babylon mentality. People Jesus will deny “depart from me, workers of iniquity. I never knew you.”
Replacement Theology has been a b****. The majority of religious people, hell the entire world is under replacement theology. Now that things have come to pass, 2020 has started the Redemption of His seed as well as judgement for Babylon & the upcoming beast system.

I've done all of the above for years and I do believe in The Holy Trinity
I just dont believe in the theory that hell is a place of fire where all sinners go.
Jesus loves the sinners but hates sinning. There's no sin His blood cant wash away.
In the western culture pastors say ''accept christ'' but I believe saving comes from baptism, confessing to a priest and being a part of the Holy Communion/Lord's Supper.
All of these were given from Christ to His disciples and from His disciples to us throughout over 2000 years.....acceptance is a mindful practice....but God is the savior of souls, not of bodies or theories
plus, the whole '''good things happen to good Christians'' teaching of the west is in its roots blasphemous....hurt, suffering, pain are all fundamental to appreciating the life God gave us
also the the teaching that the commandments are ''offending'' god....that's false, every commandment is more of a manual to living a good life than being righteous....an atheist doctor or good lawyer caan be righteous...that doesnt give the God's grace
anyway, that's what I believe in....you dont have to accept my beliefs

wherever there's men there's theology. You cant avoid it. Even if you're a family secluded to the mountains you'll still inherit some beliefs
if theology is wrong for studying god then so is science for studying the universe
Just to clean things up.. Jesus isn’t God.
The most cited verse in the Bible makes it plain, it’s from Jesus himself.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, whosoever believe in him shall have eternal life.
God sent His Son and not himself. Jesus is God is a false doctrine. This is the order. It’s literally a chain of command that represents oneness.
John 5:18-19,30-32
1 Corinthians 11:3, John 2:19-21, Romans 12:1,
God
Jesus
(We pray thru Jesus because he’s the living sacrifice. Unlike the Old Testament where they’d stone under the Law of Aaron, we’re under Grace/Melchizedek priesthood. Life has now officially became spiritual and our body is now the temple)
God
Jesus
From God thru Jesus, we’re sent the Holy Spirit... when we do the will of the Father.
Man (church/bodily temple)
Woman (church/bodily temple)
Children (church/bodily temple)
Now because we pray to the Father through Jesus, the same Spirit of the Lord in the Old Testament is now represented as the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is ultimate. One can only receive the Holy Spirit by repenting for your sins, getting baptized, keeping the commandments through Christ by reading the Word of God that was within Christ that it may be within you.
No idea
The trinity isn't even a thing in the Bible but Christians believe it
The word trinity isn't there but the concept is. Christians didn't just come up with it out of thin air

the concept is barely there either

Jesus is God. John 20:28
the concept is barely there either
Its all over the New Testament
it's not about "have to". his death was a way for the people of the time to understand what is happening in a tangible way. previously they atoned for sins by sacrificing a lamb. jesus died as the last lamb and no more lambs had to be sacrificed, it acted as a metaphor. additionally he came to earth in human form to display to the humans that he understands their nature and build common ground. etc
ultimately though i think its dumb and makes no sense whatsoever to try to apply your own logic to what a god might do

that's just differentiating Father from the Son
the holy trinity is not three gods
it's three faces or three substances united in one spirit...the father, son and holy spirit
the father and the spirit have no form, the only one with an image is Christ that received his flesh through the body of mary (that doesnt mean he didnt exist before his human form tho)
Its all over the New Testament

I guess our difference isn't belief, more of denomination? Cuz there's dozens of different denomination inside of Christianity which gets confusing. Cuz I remember in school we learned the 3 main ones are Catholic, Lutheran and Protestant But inside of protestant there's another 50 or so MORE
I agree with a lot that you said, and a few things I didn't agree with, but I'm apart of the western world protestant sector of the Church, so that's expected.
I just think you came off unnecessarily aggressive at first lolll

This
Jesus is not god. The father, and he alone is god.
I think baptism is more of a symbolic gesture, rather than an absolute necessity for access to heaven. But everything else is spot on, and what most religions state.
The trinity was a concept developed by the church fathers
Jesus himself states who God is
So your backtracking on your comment that its barely in the bible?
So your backtracking on your comment that its barely in the bible?
nope jesus tells you who God is in the bible. The father...
The church fathers made up this concepts years after
