Drake is an easy target, every album he’s dropped since Thank Me Later has been hated from the moment it’s dropped, only on social media remember. Real world f***s with him heavy as the numbers show.

Apr 28, 2020Metacritic rated Usher’s Confessions, Mariah Carey’s Emancipation of Mimi and so many more albums average to low scores and they went on to be timeless albums. I have never put any value in Metacritic because it’s a bunch of people with their own agendas rating music and no opinion is more important than my own.
One upon a time you could maybe take a review at face value and trust that they were giving an album a fair shot, not anymore they will review an album 1 hour after it’s release if it’s not a “classic” then it’s “mid”.

Critic scores do matter, no matter how much this section tries to downplay them. That's why people in this section were celebrating when More Life had a 80+ score on MetaCritic before the final review came out and bumped it down to 79

Critics are usually able to justify their scores whereas most people on KTT review an album by saying "goat" or "trash" or "mid"
I'll listen to a critic's opinion from an established publication over a forum user's take anyday
