When revisionists tout Iraq’s symbolic importance, they make another strategic blunder. Iraq was a secular country run by a dictator whom the United States had caged, but his presence still served a purpose in the region. The biggest beneficiary of the American invasion was Iraq’s sworn enemy, the officially theocratic and anti-American state of Iran.
Were it not for America’s continued presence in Iraq, the Shiites in Iran would likely form a close alliance with the majority Shiites in Iraq, if not annex a good deal of new territory. That threat might be used to justify America’s continued presence in Iraq, but it does not speak well of the decision to go to war there in the first place, and Bush both urged and scared the country into war.

Simple answer: looked like a default dude you'd just give an eyebrow raise to at Home Depot as opposed to whatever that thing that is president now.
people keep saying because of trump are wrong because they’ll do the same thing to trump
Idk Reagan was just as bad as Trump and I don’t see many white people getting worked up about him
He was worse than Trump is actually
Reagan was never nearly as disliked as Trump in his time

sadly a lot of people arent informed on the damage he caused in america and worldwide. theyre just given the image of the strong patriot who stood up to gorbachev and accept it as fact without seeing the skeletons in his closet
either that or they straight up dont care
The ones who do are morons who base everything on aesthetics and public personas. Bush wasn't as brash and didn't say edgy and offensive things, so all the bloodshed in the Middle East doesn't matter to them.

you can find articles from 2001-2005 which claim Bush was going to usher in Fascism. social media wasn't widespread so the effect of the news didn't disseminate like it does now. when Bush was in office he was treated very similar to Trump. but now he's not in office and liberals have the political memory of a goldfish after a stroke. in 8 years when a new republican is announced who has hard upfront policy they'll start fondly retroactively saying Trump wasn't that bad too.

Basing that off of what? Reagan was a lot more presidential and much less divisive than Trump. Reagan wasn’t taking every chance he could get to s*** on literally anybody who didn’t praise him lol

Yeah the fact that Trump is so outward with his hate he will be remembered for it. Nobody will forget and most likely he’ll be in the news after he loses and try some wild s***.

Do you know anything about Reagan or are you an actual dipshit?
He supported contra cocain trafficking plus the war on d**** and turned the US into the authoritarian police state it is today. He adopted neoliberalism and the privatization of the economy and wiped out any trace of new deal policies. He basically destroyed this country.

liberals love to rehabilitate conservatives, they even did it for nixon in the 90s

What he did as president vs how he acted as president. George Bush is being remembered somewhat fondly because he essentially is likable and acted mostly presidential. People look back at Reagan in the same way and like him as a person and overlook bad things he did.
Trump won’t have that advantage. Trump’s whole strategy has been to divide, and he has been divisive his entire campaign. There’s no way liberals look back in 20 years like “man Trump wasn’t a very good president but he was a good guy”. That’s my point, no need to get upset fam

pretty much how i feel about the whole political landscape post Trump
being a moderately s***ty person seems to make u a savior when a brash arrogant very very s*** person enters the chat
Nobody cared about Ronald Reagan until they saw the cover of TPAB lol.
Didn’t this clown say when Kanye said he doesn’t care about Black People it was the worst moment of his presidency?
This guy is responsible for starting a war in the Middle East for oil and used WMD as an excuse. On top of it innocent people were killed and bombed. Yet what Kanye said hurt him.
F*** him!
