Lmao I know some super woke niggas that was mad at it cuz they had the white dude save the day and had black people fighting each other
Im middle eastern but this s*** will always have me feeling some type of way 😑 No matter how wholesome
and heroic the black or brown dude is a White mf effortlessly portrays all their qualities and saves the day at the end
What are you even trying to say with this comment? lol
I’m tryna say that the narrative that this was some “pro black / black owned” property is kinda false when a lot of non blacks profited from it.
What are you even trying to say with this comment? lol
the same ¨hip hop wouldnt be where it is right now without white ppl¨ argument just in film form, ignore his coonery
And this, at the end of the movie I was like wtf did he kill him for when his goals and motivations were totally the right ones, makes Tchallah look real dumb
1. T'Challa tried to save him. Killmonger chose to die.
2. Killmonger was never going to stop, and tried to kill his damn sister.
3. Killmonger's motivation was justified so T'Challa is just gonna let him use vibranium and the throne he was responsible to take over the world? Bro?
4. The movie literally ends with him taking Killmongers motivation and executing it in a positive manner.
Tf you talking about?
the same ¨hip hop wouldnt be where it is right now without white ppl¨ argument just in film form, ignore his coonery
Those two comments are not the same at all, this movie was funded by white folks and is apart of a white owned franchise.
That’s what my point was, f*** outta here

whites profiting off of black people oh my god oh wow dude what a surprise wow holy s***
As a black person, I f*** with the movie but it did have its flaws.
And plus if you look at the behind the scenes s*** like how Coogler didn’t even get to direct the action scenes in the third act, it makes you wonder what Marvel was thinking cuz Coogler is great with fight scenes.
I also feel like the CIA agent was featured more prominently than he should have been.
Like I think Black Panther existing is more important for the culture than the movie itself if that makes sense.
Given that they were rushed to meet a deadline and also squeezed between major releases like Ragnarok and Infinity War says it all. A couple weeks work for the VFX team with far fewer artists working on the movie will do the trick to make a superhero film end up feeling less "super" and "spectacular". At the end of the day the choreo, colors and CGI could've been executed a lot better and it should but the priorities just weren't there.
Now that BP is arguably MCUs biggest property we won't hopefully go thru that again, cause conceptually and as far as the writing Coogler penned without a doubt the best and most ambitious origin thus far in its universe plus the worldbuildings dope, already a lot of dope grounds to go from here.

I agree as far as origin stories go this was one of my favorites, I think this movie had a lot of solid ideas. Some were executed better than others.
I just hope MCU puts enough faith in Coogler to let him have complete control

That has nothing to do at all with people hating the movie for political reasons. Lol like that wasn't even brought up in this thread. And MOST people understand where this comes from, that doesn't mean they can't celebrate the black content in the film. The few comments I've seen that fit yours were made by people clueless to hollywood s*** in general.

i loved it so much
People actually loved the movie. Mostly edgy DC-ucks hated it, and neonazis because they thought it would be an BlackLivesMatter movie cause some people appropriated the movie hype into identity politics. Its a classic movie for what it is, well it got an Oscar nomination. Its also essential to the MCU and next phases as a whole.
Heres an nice article who talks about the importance of this character qz.com/africa/1463853/stan-lee-imagined-an-africa-way-ahead-of-his-time-with-black-panther
I'm here talking down on Killmonger to a white kid defending him, someone break the simulation

And where did I say you can’t celebrate the black content in this film, I’m just saying the whole “durr Hurr whites mad” narrative lazy as f*** when this film lined up white peoples pockets. Most of the white people I’ve seen who are mad about this film are twitter trolls and edge lords.
Plus myself and others in this thread have pointed out how a white CIA agent is vital in the third act of the film and how that rubs some of us the wrong way, cuz here you have this mostly black cast and one of the important dudes in the movie is STILL a white guy

For sure, seeing as how much time they're giving him to write it I'm hopeful. It's the sequel and how great BP did critically and box office wise he should be well enough to do his own thing. I'm really hopeful don't know why, just have a feeling something great is gonna come outta this

F*** does this even mean, y’all get so obtuse and abrasive over trivial s*** I’m crying

I just hope the villain is just as interesting if not better than Killmonger, been reading up on Black Panther and dude has an interesting rogues gallery

Yep. Superhero movies is here to represent social justice at all... Is just entertainment, in this case a Black hero beats villains asses.
