I think you can kinda tell when white people are "putting it on" and when some white folks is just "that's just where I grew up in" to be honest.

@CBXX getting attacked cause he laying it on thick with the "blame China for everything" hill but he is right that tik tok/media in general pushing hip hop culture to the masses inevitably leads to things like other cultures that aren't black...speaking black lol.

    The Chinese government does influence

    • Hollywood
    • media
    • own the largest social media
    • profit off cultural appropriation occurring on the app

Doesn’t make them responsible for the things white people do

  • Feb 22, 2023

And I dont even think you can blame hip hop culture itself, cause I know many white people that LOVE hip hop that don't speak in ebonics

All I’m saying is if you’re looking for someone to blame get to the root of the issue not the impressionable children who are being told and influenced on how to speak and act

One could argue that the globalization of every culture (not limited to black culture) through the internet basically just melts it all together.

The homogenization of everything that was once 'unique' just becomes corporate sheet metal used as a commodity at the end of the day.

i hate it when it’s obviously people who didn’t grow up around it

but tbh i grew up in the city and basically got conditioned to talk like that (my friends would always tell me to stop talking “white” even though i am lmao)

but yeah hearing suburban white people talk like that even annoys me

They are responsible for and own TikTok, the most popular and widely used app in the world for kids. Which is where they spent most of their time, which means it’s one of the most powerful influencing factors in their lives, yes.

Another would be the music industry who chooses what and who to promote, which also has one of the largest impacts on kids and also on TikTok.

Less so would be things like Netflix who have made it their mission to inject social issues into their content, and Hollywood/entertainment in general.

Some of us just grew up around that, some of us are trying to put on an act

I was talking about China in regards to TikTok, which is owned by the Chinese government and is the #1 influencer of the youth. You’re conflating that with my other examples

But if you want to get more into it, they also influence and own people and companies within the entertainment industry, politicians, etc. but I’m not even arguing that.

Am I wrong? They force social issues into their content, just about every Netflix original. And rarely does it improve the storyline.

    You People was extremely cringe

At this point I have to disagree, like I understand what you’re saying but TikTok having the means to influence what goes viral and what doesn’t makes me disagree w this
