Drake said Kanye is the most influential person on him
And Yh wayne influenced more Thug than kanye

I'd even go as far as to say he's the most influential person as far as a musician that I'd ever had in my life."

Drake has said things like this about a lot of rappers. He's just bigging up artists. People say this s*** all the time.
Jay once said scarface is his favorite rapper ever but then went back and said someone else another time. Wayne is just as influential to drake as kanye is
Yes, influenced Drake, Kendrick,Thug, Future etc.
Crazy how everyone on this was also influenced by ye aswell
it happened last night but no Source? aight lol
Rory and mal from the joebudden podcast had a mixtape hit battle between wayne and fab
Crazy how everyone on this was also influenced by ye aswell
Just not nearly as much as Wayne
Just not nearly as much as Wayne
Drake was definitely influenced more about ye
But it doesnt really matter at their level, wayne and ye both influenced a whole generation

He certainly wasn't, Drake's biggest influences are Hov and Wayne in rap and R.Kelly in R&B
People do give Kanye credit for a lot of s***. There's that narrative that he killed gangster rap when he outsold 50 Cent, but 50's album still sold like 700k copies. 50 was already seen as pop capitulation for singing his hooks. Outkast had started from gangster rap and transitioned out of it in the mainstream already by the time he debuted. He was in the studio when Common was laying down stuff that wasn't gangster rap with No ID. I'm not sure what foundation they think he built. It's the same with autotune. Him and Wayne both got that s*** from T-Pain. They both dropped projects defined by it in late 2008. Yet, a Kanye fan will tell you he fathered anybody who thought about using a melody.

All u said is true but there definitely was a shift away from gangster rap after ye drop college dropout
And the way ye used autotune for the whole album with the settings on high as a rapper was more prominent than tpain or wayne using it on selected songs
they both contributed greatly imo
I don't know why people act as if there can only be one influence in the genre

He said that Ye was his favorite artist honor the Jay umbrella and he was mentored by Wayne for years.

Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (2003) outsold College Dropout (2004).
Rappa Ternt Sanga and Dedication 3 both were drenched in autotune. Pain even said Kanye brought him in the studio to make 808s sound more like his s***.
