He said that Ye was his favorite artist honor the Jay umbrella and he was mentored by Wayne for years.

Nah he said he was the most influential person on his sound and 40 said something similar Ik u seen that quote thousands of times on this site

And even then it makes sense that an artist's favorite artist would influence him dont u think ?

Drake always goes overboard with praising legends

Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (2003) outsold College Dropout (2004).

Rappa Ternt Sanga and Dedication 3 both were drenched in autotune. Pain even said Kanye brought him in the studio to make 808s sound more like his s***.

What does outkast outselling college dropout have anything to do with the shift away from gangster rap

The vocals on 808s are definitely more drenched in autotune than rappa ternt Santa
    And those wayne songs

So are Drake and Ye. Drake stylistically is more Hov than Ye. Ye isn't making a 4 pm in Calabasas or Diplomatic immunity

  • Apr 24, 2020

wayne influenced very influential rappers a lot, but ye changed the game as a whole in more ways than i can list here
the biggest rapper in the world was wayne’s protege, and even HE says that

I never said they were the same artist they're very different. But ye influenced him more than hov and wayne even he said this himself. The whole airy atmospheric sound that Toronto is know for was 808s influenced. And jay isnt make a better find your love or summer games so that arguement makes no sense either

I'm tired of niggas trying to take away an artist's credit to build up another artist. Why can't we just celebrate these dudes for helping the game get to where it is now.

Kanye is more influential because his influence reaches other genres of music, not just rap

    so does Wayne’s.
