she tried to change her sound and her whole image a bit too much and then came right back to where she was before, very odd
It's crazy tho cuz everyone bashed Reputation and it still sold like 1.3 mil first week
1989 her only good album imo. I tried to listen to her other stuff and had to cleanse my ears afterwards
Tf is this avi bro
@soapmanwun type beat
I like Drake, for example. Some of his music is great.
But I don’t have an answer for why songs as bad as I’m Upset can reach 7 on the hot 100
Because, to answer your question, the average person aren’t deeply invested into music like someone on here would be.
A lot of people just play whats on playlists or whatever single a big artist dropped
Usher does nothing original or groundbreaking but, like Chris, he’s immensely talented at singing and forming melodies.
I’m not talking about artists like that. I’m talking about unoriginal and talentless artists
ok
but none of them are truly, all the way talentless at most it's maybe 10%
For example, a singer like Rihanna is known for poor technique but sounds good enough to sing on the track. Taylor may not be an amazing singer either but can sing and play multiple instruments and writes a lot of her music too. Just cuz a singer "doesn't have enough soul" for you or can't dance or perform well has NOTHING to do with how good their actual music is.
Your whole argument is just contradicting itself. You asked "do you actually like MUSIC?" then go on about how you think artists are talentless and add nothing to the industry. The question is about music itself but your argument is about the artist, not the music they release.

Facts. Thats why I’m saying most people don’t actually like it. They just ride whatever wave other people are on

sposed to imply CB is our gen's MJ
the truth is we don't have one but us Gen Z and Millenials ain't ready to accept it

why is that a problem though? and can you even say that they don't like it?
are people not allowed to watch sports if they aren't hardcore into it? are people not allowed to do anything if they aren't into it? it's just entertainment for a lot of people

You’re nitpicking. You get the point of the thread.
The most popular artists are usually the least gifted

I was talking about spags avi doofenshmirts is blowing perry

I think 1989 might just be a pop classic tbh
And just like you I don't really like her other stuff, but that doesn't mean it's utter garbage. It's just not for me
(SOme songs truly are trash tho)
I was talking about spags avi doofenshmirts is blowing perry
so you know what the avi is
If so, why do you commend artists who don’t bring anything special to the table?
Taylor Swift is the perfect example: below average voice, consistent but unoriginal lyrics and melodies, and an awful live performer. But she is one of the biggest artists of all time.
Do you find comfort in her vanilla appearance? Do you prefer her writing because it allows you to perpetuate your lack of introspection? Or do you simply like her for her fame because you want to be a part of something SO much bigger than yourself?
This puzzles me each and every day as I see the charts filled with the same names. Regardless of the song’s quality you’ll likely see Roddy Rich, Drake, Meg, etc. The same phenomenon applies to Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran and more. Meanwhile there are artists putting out fantastic music that hardly sees the light of day.
Are you fans of music or are you fans of celebrity?
You’re actually an absolute idiot if you think Taylor Swift has a “below average voice”

Well below average*

That's just wrong.
Very very unlikely that on a scale of talent, the "least gifted artist" becomes the most popular. Gifted artists (gifted is a very vague term) tend to be the popular ones. And even when they're not as gifted as their peers in a lot of areas, they have people around them who contribute their gifts to the music and make it just as good as the super talented artists.

Valid argument
Those people who make a non-special artist sound special deserve some recognition though
OP cannot comprehend people enjoying music he doesn't like
the worst kind of listener

Now you're reaching. This is just ridiculous. Michael freaking Jackson is the most popular artist of all time. He actually wrote his lyrics and composed his music. He's even known as the "God of Dance" in some Asian countries. Not to mention he wrote a few songs for other artists as well.
There's way more examples who talented artist being among the best selling and most awarded artists ever too. Just because they're popular or pop or rap doesn't make them bad or talentless or not real music.
