Always thought the implication of it was like shooting yourself in the foot. It’s basically suggesting that white men are more cultured and intelligent about art while other demographics are “too stupid and close minded” to get it.
it basically is, but no one in here wants to admit it
scaring the hoes also lowkey mean scaring the room temp IQ humans regardless of gender
bell curve elitists gonna end up alone at the party
Because they appeal to almost exclusively to white people
is anyone in here going to explain why?
Cause it's funny
I hope no one actually thinks the music should be dismissed that way
It's not when white folks legit parrot that s*** as legit criticisms
I saw a comment in here that said black people don't like "The Love Below"
Ktt really crazy
It's not when white folks legit parrot that s*** as legit criticisms
Then laugh at them and tear them down

literally zero taste
he certainly knows what niggas are bumping though
this d***riding on another level. he tried to mimic drake's taste in music
is anyone in here going to explain why?
Nope, they will keep dodging the question because they aren’t making any sense
I've seen people say MF Doom is "white people" music too which is funny because he'll often thrown in Five Percenter slang in many of his raps lol.
He is probably is "scaring the hoes" music though ngl.
Depends. Art hoes like MF Doom fr ive seen it
KTT been on their mainstream rap is better wave for a minute cant be surprised anymore
Going here for legitimate music discussion these days is a waste of time
honestly to see Carti take on a punk aesthetic and niggas just be cool with it when anyone who did that punk s*** was always branded as white way before him really doesn’t sit well with me
it’s like everyone has to follow whatever is popping off
Facts. He somehow beat the white people music allegations just cause he had a cash carti phase
scaring the hoes also lowkey mean scaring the room temp IQ humans regardless of gender
When the boys drop pregnant p**** on the aux in secret at a party everybody stops what they're doin
Nope, they will keep dodging the question because they aren’t making any sense
That style of music just isn’t appealing to the average black listener in the USA. That doesn’t make it worse or better though
black people have always made “experimental” music, out existance demands that we are constantly reinventing ourselves and everything around us
i think that kinda music gets called yt ppl music for so many reasons that i can’t even get into it rn or else i’ll give myself a headache, but basically i think it’s bc
if we’re talking modern right, i think yt artists have to “do more” to craft a sense of individuality, hence some ppl see some music as weird for the sake of being weird / different.
if to be black in america still technically is a deviation of the “cultural standard”, then it’s much easier for critics to homogenize / lump black artists together, while still highlighting their individuality. idk if i’m making sense or wording this the right way.
i think it has a lot to do with the racialization of genre tho more than anything
Cause what shawty trying to f*** you to JPEGMAFIA? This statement false af cause plenty hoes from all races got naked to Jai Paul for me
Some people don’t f*** to music though.
Like me for example.
Sometimes I wanna hear the crickets.
is anyone in here going to explain why?
Idk this would get into a cultural/racial discussion of what black people listen to VS white people. Then that would exclude a lot of people out of that convo including myself
That style of music just isn’t appealing to the average black listener in the USA. That doesn’t make it worse or better though
I mean yea I guess I see what what you mean, but tbh I feel like a lot of us in black community don’t give certain music a fair chance because of the “white boy” stigma that comes with it
And it’s just wild how a white dude can blast trap music loud af and no one really gives it much attention, but a black dude listening to alternative or something is def going to cause him to get stuck with labels
It just really sucks that black people are the only ones that gotta deal with something like that
