    s***sells.

it's been like this for a minute though (since the 70s or 80s probably). Look at marilyn, whitney, janet, tina etc... they all used their s***appeal to some degree

    Mr Sting

Facts this just a reflection of the times we in social media got these young girls doing the unthinkable nowadays smh

That doesn’t explain the racial disparity IMO

You wouldn’t see artists like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Camilla Cabello, etc doing stuff like this, but it seems like Black women can’t be successful in the industry without being highly sexualized. Why is that?

She so sexy she needs to be more sexual lol

I would say there’s diversity among the white women singers and pop stars, but all the popular black women artist in recent years seem to fit into the same mold. It may just be in the hip hop community as someone earlier said

The artists you named don’t make “sexy” music in the same vein that artists like Megan, Cardi and Chloe are

Why would Olivia be dancing half naked when she’s singing about how she got her heart broken after school

Meanwhile the song Chloe is dancing to

Boy, you lookin' at me like I ain't give you no choice
If I count to three, bet you be on your knees
You wrapped 'round my hand like Cartier, oh
You can't get this thickness out of your mind

    Pre-Chorus
He say he like that Laffy Taffy
He so goofy, call me daddy
He go stupid, he go daffy
    Introduce me to his papi
He can never live without me
I'm so real, I'm never cappin'
If he got it like that, like that
I can take it, take it there
    'Cause my
Booty so big (Work), Lord, have mercy

More to do with target audience than anything else

They want to appeal to a specific crowd and they know how to get their attention. The women love it, the men also love it, so they’ll keep doing it. It’s the easiest, lowest effort route to take to relevancy.

I actually think Chloe & Murda’s new song is pretty good, as far as tiktok songs go.

Her voice is incredibly airy & the song structure itself is very well put together.

All the popular artists, white or black have used s***at some point. Even Taylor Swift or the white country singer. The most popular black female artists lately been rappers, who've always been more explicit than pop/r&b singers.

  • Jhene Aiko's entire career is based in part on hyper sexuality and sexual fluidity
