i don't think they're "forced", like i don't think there is necessarily a shady conspiracy to force women to act like this - for example, Madonna of course did pioneered that type of pop sexualization out of her own volition as a shock factor and for her own publicity and artistic reasons. However I do think there's something about pop as a genre - and wider media - where s***sells, and women get pigeonholed into depicted roles of over-sexualization by environmental factors within the industry and trends in consumer culture. I think it happens with men too, it's not just women, but depictions of female sexuality are more blatant because it's easier to get away with female sexuality in marketing/adveritising then it is men.
