mr get doughTheir first album was huge then they had label issues and dropped 2 albums that didnt do as well but those were great albums, one of them is easily one of the best rap albums ever. Then they were huge for the rest of their career
Id say they have 2 classics too Paul’s Boutique and Ill Communication
I’m gonna go back and listen to that 89 album for sure. I didn’t know they switched it up that much from some of their more popular older songs. The music was before my time but I always heard them mentioned in history it just always felt kinda separate from everything else at the time

I don’t see it mentioned I never went and listened to that album. If I’m wrong in wrong but y’all Trippin in here acting like ppl supposed to know like that. They sound alternative as hell on some of those songs

I do remember seeing them in list but I hear those mid 80s songs from them more than anything it feels like. The Paul boutique album sounds interesting seeing as they started to use samples and were supposedly one of the first

Mac, Bronson, Beastie Boys and old Em (although his production and lyrics haven’t held up at all. Old Em just had so much charisma tho)
Your Old Droog, Nyck Caution, Evidence and El-P are alright. I just don’t really seek out their music
I’d even say Matt Champion from brockhampton is an ok rapper. He got a good voice for it but his lyrics are really really bad and don’t even make sense most of the time. Plus he’s associated with brockhampton so he’s gonna get s*** on immediately
